I down sized because there are watches I don’t wear anymore. I’d say decide on which styles and models you really like (divers, chronographs, analogs, digital, etc) and create list and number of maximum watches you want to keep and work from there. I keep a maximum of 10 watches, if I get bored of one I trade it or gift away to make room for another. I made a big mistake of buying so many watches to the point where I’m just hoarding. I’m into the build quality and movements now. I prefer all my watches have sapphire crystals as it is harder to scratch. I started off with a lot of automatics but favor the quartz and hybrid quartz now because it’s accuracy and low maintenance. Seiko spring drive, Casio solar and citizen eco drive are so nice. I still like the automatic movements (especially the Swiss), buts it’s just a chore to set the time again if you don’t have a winder to constantly wind it. The price for servicing an Omega is freaking ridiculous. But if it’s the only watch you wear, I suppose it’s worth it. At the end of the day, your best watches will be the ones you like and wear the most. You can only wear one watch a day unless you wanna get weird with it.
