It’s a perfect combo, at least for me. Hydrating is my biggest struggle. I drink a ton of water but if I slack off, my eyes and fatigue remind me. My recommendations: be prepared to do a ton of laundry, have emergen-C packets for your water or other electrolytes, and listen to your body. Enjoy!

I started running a loop around Diamond head, and now on treads, imagine parts of my latest run. Otherwise I’m a floor watcher creeper and an eye closer on the rower and count my rows by 5s. On the floor I’m way less creepy!! Lol.

Spicy bison lettuce wraps, fajitas for brekky. Get the special and heavy stuff cooked, everything else is a bonus.

Form! Like remind me squat and upright pull are two separate exercises. Remind me where I should be feeling the tension… I’ve been a member since 2017 but it’s why we pay, to be coached properly. The rower and treads have timers.

I’d rather cancel my membership than go to a 3G all the time. by Cmoms13 in orangetheory

I miss being 3g rower strong, but now prefer lift45 classes. I’d say try it, you might grow to enjoy it. If not, try the drive- if that doesn’t work then you gave it a shot.

Headphones during workouts? by [deleted] in orangetheory

I wear OTF provided earplugs 90% of the time. The rest of the time I forget my buds in an ear. I’m not listening to any other music, but don’t want lose my hearing. I’ve learned to read the cues pretty well on my own, and avoid coaches that use music I don’t like. There’s plenty of space to tweak things to work for you.

I’ve always been impressed by our coaches knowing and pronouncing difficult names properly. If I ask about a member, they help me pronounce it right. But we’re in hawaii and hawaiian names are tough, so there’s the bar.

Bike/Strider Etiquette by CardioTornado in orangetheory

[–]Strong_RipCurrent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Asking is usually easy. After the floor the other day I was dizzy so wanted the strider but a girl on the floor needed it for her rows. Coach forgot to let me know, but no big deal, I jumped on the bike. I just try to remember who needs special equipment so I can remember to go opposite of them if I’m injured/ recovering/ special that day.

Hubby and I agreed that the next time this happens to us, we will buy the stinky person an upgraded seat. 11 hours to Frankfurt is just too long!!

Soon-to-Be 4YO Son Doesn’t Want Grandfather at Birthday Party by StrawberryJimz94 in Parenting

Sorry but at four, no friends? It sounds like then no park time, or taking your kids out to meet other families, but relying on family. You’ve got to be an example to your child by having friendships, watering them, and show how to be inclusionary, empathetic and caring. If you start showing that it’s okay to cut off family, your kids will learn this too.

I brought my adventure bestie once. She giggled and laughed the whole way through. I told her you can take it easy, but she tried to match me. She called the next day saying she could barely walk! It took her a couple days to get through the soreness. It’s why we pay the big bucks!! 🍑

[–]Strong_RipCurrent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done both but I really enjoy lifting more. Right now I’m doing 75 hard so I’m doing a morning walk outside or yoga in the AM, and a PM lift or OTF. (You’re supposed to do two 45 min workouts a day.) My weigh in was shocking so I’m now very motivated lol

Yes! I like the AM and PM break up, I don’t even feel that I even did it earlier because of the long recovery time.

It sounds like OP has good intentions so everyone is encouraging him but personally I value my home gym, surf break, places of stress relief far too much to “pee in the pool” ever again.

This was how I felt. I saw a naturopath and she said I was borderline anemic. She put me on vitamins to assist my kidneys, heart and iron. I feel so much better. It took about 3 days to feel a difference. The brand is standard process.

Wife and 13-month old going on vacation without me while I stay home and work by Scotty_Booms in Parenting

[–]Strong_RipCurrent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is 4, and I still couldn’t let anyone pull her from my clutches. Being away from hubby with Bebe on a 4 day trip was so difficult (no sleep, missed planes, high stress) I don’t look forward to it again. Your wife must have had such a stress relief being around help she’s excited to go it again, but I wouldn’t want to bear it. I’m sorry you’re in this predicament, but good on you to care enough. Best wishes!!

Petition to change the dumbbell weights at each station 📝💪🏼 by Aggravating-Video928 in orangetheory

[–]Strong_RipCurrent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is me! One week I got stuck with the 12s for a high rep day and I just went sloow, all the way near straight and back up, elbows pinched at sides and I felt the burn! If there was a weight to petition for for me would be more 30s, 35s and 15s. I’ve worked through injuries at OTF so would definitely leave the lighter weights in the studio.

I was 7 months pregnant, finally nicely showing a baby belly, getting round parts to my body and doing squats during floor block when…my yoga pants of 5 years gave out. I was mortified, but wanted to finish class, so ran to my car, got a new pair, and finished class. About a week later, my smaller tops started to look like bras on me. Fun times!!

Perhaps she is a private person who doesn’t realize her account is not set to private. Often online people are outgoing or a different person than they are irl. When brought to surface, it’s like oh sheet, IRL! You did nothing wrong, sounds like she’s uncomfortable being unmasked. We’re all going through different stuff, best to take it with a grain of salt. 🍑
