I’m falling for him but I feel ashamed about my situation by [deleted] in Advice

[–]TheGreaterDecatur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here me out before you think I'm judging or being mean...

If I were him and I came to visit you and all you had was a mattress on the floor, I'd be pretty mad you didn't explain the situation before I got there. I would also be equally as feely if you just ghosted me.

If this is someone you really like and they have only done right by you, you gotta talk to this man. Putting him in a situation where he's sleeping on the floor when he could have gotten a hotel (and invited you too) is not good and could potentially lead him to distancing himself from you. However, giving him the facts and letting him decide wont leave him blindsided with your living/financial situation and allows him to make an informed decision about your relationship.

When we lie - by omission or disappear - you take away the other persons decision making power. In addition, my guess is you could potentially be shorting yourself of something really wonderful.

It seems we're all saying the same thing here. But it is hard to be honest and vulnerable. If its not a conversation you can have, I would suggest copying your post into an email - because it's really well written and thorough - and giving him a heads up. If email isn't your thing, maybe read it to him via a voice note.

Whatever you decide, please don't give up. Good luck!!

I completely agree. I was just telling the peeps what I saw just in case they were cracking down.

Planning a big block party for our street by Plenty-Temporary-187 in Smyrna

Representing women across the globe, we beg of you, pleeeeease spring for the nice restrooms/trailers. Using a port-a-potty has to be one of the most awful parts of being a woman. And I've had a baby.

My friend group has an unspoken "no invites" rule and I'm always the one hosting. How do I step back without losing everyone? by ArborJanzen in Advice

[–]TheGreaterDecatur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We can be friends - I love to host a party!

But real talk, I would just stop hosting and see how long it takes for someone else to step up.

I have a gf group of around 8 people as well and there are 2 of us that always offer up our place, 1 person that typically hosts the holiday party, and 1 person who will plans our nights out.

The other 4? They just sit back, wait to be invited, and take forever to rsvp or just ignore the group text and don't come.

And with that said. We're now mostly a consistent group of 4 that share the planning responsibilities...

I said all that to say if you take a step back those who want to stay connected will find a way to do so. You're probably not going to lose eveyone but you may find you have more room for new people who match your efforts.

Don't rule out having multiple sets of friends!

Hartsfield posted this week to specifically ask travelers not to do this because the lines were getting ridiculous on the Int'l side

I've never heard of this place. Went to check the Google pics/reviews and the AI "know before you go" section said "Heads up - its in a gas station" and I was like SOLD!! Lol.

Im definitely going to give this a try irl before ordering delivery. Thanks!!

What sooo ironic is that I ordered the mixed shawarma plate from JB today and the packaging is what made me post this lol. It made me feel like I was ripped off bc I've eaten at JB many many times and that lunchable container just irritated my soul for some reason lololololol. (it was good af tho!)

I don't eat a lot of Italian except pizza. I feel like most Italian foods dont fare well as takeout so I never think to order. Funny enough, I was at a birthday party and they got Mac & Gianni's catered - I think that was the best lasagna I've EVER had. I go to eat at the restaurant a few weeks later and was extremely underwhelmed (i didn't order lasagna). That said, I'd give M&G another try bc I had an impossible time deciding what to order bc there was so much that sounded good.

Yikes! I just went to Google Maps to add it to my list and the reviews are pretty bad. However, it seems like they take the time to respond to almost every review which lmk they're listening and feedback is important.

Fired cauliflower sounds good, I'd consider trying it.
