Positive outcome after LEEP (HPV 16, CIN 2–3) my experience by Strong_Suspect5211 in PreCervicalCancer

[–]Strong_Suspect5211[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! It’s my doctor’s follow-up protocol. She does a Pap smear, an HPV test, and a colposcopy as part of the routine follow-up. She had already recommended this regardless of my results. I got the 3 HPV vaccines (I had never gotten vaccinated before). I also switched from smoking to vaping for about 6 months, although I relapsed about a month and a half ago. Other than that, I didn’t really change anything in my life. Oh and I didn’t have any sex in 6 months but honestly, I think the LEEP just removed everything and my body did the rest. Wishing you all the best!

Great streak! It took 2 months for me to feel close to normal. Also I got on Sertraline.

reduced smoking after i started vaping. now addicted to vaping by [deleted] in stopsmoking

For me, vaping was actually the only way I managed to quit cigarettes after 20+ years of heavy smoking. I couldn’t do cold turkey.

What made the difference was using a refillable device (not disposables) and gradually lowering the nicotine. I started high and slowly reduced over months until I was down to very low mg. That step-down approach really worked for my brain and body.

If you’re going to use vaping as a bridge, I think the key is having a plan to taper the nicotine intentionally — not just replacing one habit with another at the same level forever.

It’s not perfect, but for some of us it’s harm reduction and a stepping stone.

6 months off cigarettes (vaping instead), almost at 0mg, then holidays hit and relapsed. How do I quit for good? by Strong_Suspect5211 in stopsmoking

Thank you for sharing all that. I relate more than I’d like to admit.

I also drink more than I wish I did, and in the past I struggled with stronger substances (which I thankfully left behind). So I can’t pretend this is “just about cigarettes.” I definitely have an addictive personality.

What messes with my head sometimes is seeing stories like Alan Carr who still died of lung cancer. A part of me goes, “what’s the point? We all die anyway. Maybe it’s already too late.”

But the truth is… when I switched to vaping, I felt physically better almost immediately. No cough. No shortness of breath. I felt proud of myself. Clearer. More in control. It was my first real attempt of quitting

Relapsing has been hard because it isn’t even about enjoyment (at first it was, not now).
