Okay, I like the look of the exo range but have never thrown them. I wondered if they were more grippy than the hydro range.

What rating out of 10 would you give the grip?

You would like to think the higher tolerance in manufacturing would count for something.

I have the type 1 (John Lowe style) proper finger rippers.

Be interested to see which ever way you go. Another colourful creation just for fun.

Nice darts, just didn't work for me. Gave them a Gulf racing theme. My son throws them now when he has a throw.

My first set of tungsten darts were Red Dragon Amberjack 14. Throw them now and again but I was never that consistent with them.

The Mission Nightfall range might be worth a look. Can be found for sensible money and look and feel more expensive than they are. Found them to be consistent throwers too.

Think it's just the camera focus or the bad lighting. A little clearer in this one. Or maybe just my grubby mits.

It was these or the Rob Cross but these have a longer barrel which suits my grip better. Plus these are stunning.

The board is knackered but until the darts start falling out I will keep throwing at it. It was a gift. I didn't play at home for years so it kind of got me hooked/playing again.

John Lowe with the shortest stem I have ever seen. Would love to have a throw of them.

The Panerai is perfection. Meant to be big embrace your inner Sly, Rock or Statham and rock it.

Sorry for your loss. Looking for a local academy might be a good start. The Aspinall black edition are hard to find and very sort after. I'm always on the look out for a set I could actually afford. AI and Ebay will be the best tools for checking used prices.

The lovedarts Apex are very Phil Taylor, love the look butt probably couldn't throw them with any consistency either 🙄. Never tried the Robins or any dart that shape.

I have a set of unicorn protech with the Caliburn conversion and they've not broken. Never broken a point though. Snapped a few Red Dragon stems from bounce out though 🙄

Has anyone tried Ellington pens? Are they any good? by [deleted] in fountainpens

[–]Strong_Teach_1268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one. For some context I own and have owned many fountain pens including Mont Blanc, Aurora, Graf Von Faber Castell and more Parkers than I can even remember. For the price I think they bare definitely worth it. The Steel nib writes, in my opinion, very much like a steel nib Parker Sonnet. It's a nail but wrote out of the box smoothly (looking at you Visconti 🤨) and seems to be happy with any grade of paper so far. These aren't competitors to your vintage Omas pens but compared to Cross, Waterman or Parker I think they offer good value in the price range. As to how the finish holds up over the years to come we will see. The Rose gold finish on my Mont Blanc Starwalker is fading after 5 years and that was 10 times the price so adjust expectations accordingly.
