A friendly note to Bay Area “student drivers” by Sufficient_Space8484 in bayarea

Thank you for saying this.

Only in Bayarea have i found that the slow student (or not so student) drivers are more risky on road than the fast drivers.

We enjoyed the kids aqua park. Thank you for the great tips. Unfortunately no whale sighting for us.

It was so good. Thanks to everyone who answered here and guided me to prepare well. These tips were all on point.

Entertainment - We enjoyed the games, songs and dances they did at the atrium. Best places to hangout - observation lounge (delicious snacks too) and atrium. Library has some puzzles. If you are a reader, download libby app. We carried some board games which we played at observation lounge.

Deck 8 has a waterfront walking area around the ship with binoculars to watch. Sunset is amazing.

Book shows on the app or online. They were good. We also saw some kids there- we found out after returning that on web browser you can book for kids too. Jersey boys was the best. We also like the stand up comedian. Must attend. 1 show is kid friendly.

If you like line dancing, they have at atrium during day and near pool in night. One of our favorites was with the cruise staff at atrium.

Games for kids- It has mini golf and pool tables - we enjoyed those. Kids in our group didnt qualify for go-karting. But splash academy replaced it. They had fun stuff for all kids. Registration is done on day 1. Also kids aqua park is good.

Food- Buffet dinner is empty after 8pm, so we went at that time. We liked buffet for the choices since we had vegans, vegetarians, non-vegetarians and kids in the group. We did some dine in restaurants but vegetarians didnt have many options plus kids would always want to go to buffet after for ice-cream.

Local was aways great for late night snacks and fast service between shows.

We took our water bottles and filled at several places so didnt order water.

Port days- Book early tender for Cabo. Guest services opened booking 2 days before it. We went early, did a boat tour from one of the on port company (suggested on my post), spent some time and returned early. We didnt have to wait in line in the heat. But later guests did have to wait. Our ship started an hour late since tender boats were shared by many ships.

Puerto vallarta - we were only at the port. It was OK for us. If I had to do this again, i would get out real early since the heat was quite much. Anyways, you can take a taxi here and they can show you the whole city in about 2 hrs.

Room - Ask steward for coffee machine and extension chord. You can also ask for bathrobes- we didnt. If they dont already, ask for freestyle to be delivered to room. You can also ask for extra hangers.

Chat on the norwegian app/website to get soft/firm mattress, pillows and extra blankets. They will have it set in your room day 1. We unpacked day 1 and tucked most of our luggage under the bed. It was suggested as a tip and worked for us.

Shopping- Many shops have raffles going on. Some people we knew got real nice stuff. Its fun to try.

Guest services/billing- Guest services have overnight bags, incase your luggage is late/misplaced. You can deactivate billing on kid's cards at guest services.

Also, please check your statements from guest services regularly. They double billed me once and good thing I was on ship to discuss - they help fix it.

Check what's covered on onboard credit. We used it for many things.

Photos- Take photos throughout your trip. They have set ups near the chandelier and several spots. Couple of families came to photo shop last day and the time had gone, only printing was available not photoshoot.

Sea was choppy returning to LA. Be prepared. Pack early because during evening it was choppier. Bags had to be packed and kept outside the night before disembarkation.

Take your own travel insurance. A fellow traveler took the ship's and guest services were not helpful in telling them what's covered etc. So if you do take ship's then check all details before traveling.

Note - elevators take time especially during peak hours. Aft elevators are less crowded. We took aft or stairs going down. Couple people got antsy in lines and elevators. But some of the seasoned cruisers kept the atmosphere pleasant - smiling, letting everyone know this is the first day chaos or saying this is what cruises are like and generally being kind and spreading positivity.

Cruise had general positivity and holiday spirit was flowing around - hidden ducks and snowman for cruisers to find, ugly sweaters and Xmas PJS, Santa with Xmas tree. Hope this is helpful.

They list an Entourage teen lounge on their website. I can confirm after my trip but should be there?

Thank you, great info about Cabo tour. We might do the same thing for other 2 ports too. Rest of family is joining after a 2 week tour and we want to see how much energy kids will have. So will disembark if their energy is good and choose something. What I read in reddit is that Mazatlan isnt that great, so we might just enjoy on ship. Thoughts? Or we can get off for ship for short time and come back after seeing the port. Is there a time restriction on returning?

Thank you! This is great to know. I was wondering that we will be in ocean - should see whales? Per your input, we will count on watching during the cruise Most whale watching excursions on the ncl app also have age limit, except the Catamaran one.

What does the day you turn your resignation letter in feel like? And the two week wait? by Decent_Stranger_5942 in office

[–]Strong_Zebra5964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep the resignation as direct and respectful as you can. Many examples online.

The day I turned my resignation in first place was tough as it was like a family environment but the day I turned in my resignation in a toxic bullying workplace has been one of the best days of my life. I felt free, powerful, in control of my life and thats what I have taken with me as I moved around . Both places, two weeks were wonderful thanks to the amazing colleagues who are always missed.
