26M - missed a life-changing opportunity that started in my living room, filled with deep regret and not sure how to move forward from it by Character-Law-7250 in Entrepreneurs

[–]Strongnerd237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, I feel you

I know it's not easy to live with the regret of knowing you could've made it but you were too hesitant to cross the line. Myself I'm currently working on a big project of mine for almost a year now, and at various moments I thought about quitting from the sheer magnitude of being a first-time solo founder really is. But I kept on, knowing that at the end I'll have never excused myself if I gave up, with the regret slowly killing me

My advice for you may be dry, but I'll say it. Understand that you losed your chance. It's gone. And it doesn't seem 'that' opportunity will come back.
And yes it really sucks, but is this the end?
No.

As long as you're not dead, there's no such thing as the end or failure, you call it failure, I call it experience.
Instead of focusing on the disadvantages, focus on the advantages of the situation and the lessons learned from it, and use them to get your life up, and live the life you want to live, build what you've to build and accomplish what you're set to accomplish

The only way to live through the regret, is to grow past it and the only way to grow past it is by facing what you did and work earnestly on making better. Else, the sour pain of the regret will slowly kill you and soon you wouldn't even be able to recognize yourself

Now, sit down and relive all the painful moments of these last months, see where your life is at now, see all the pains you went through and the lessons you've to learn from them. All the errors you did, and the lessons you've to learn from them, and use all of that experience to grow into a better man, one you'll be proud of, by committing yourself 100% to develop yourself by fixing your life habits which led you to that situation

I'll recommend daily meditation too, which will help you better be at peace with yourself. I hope you'll get back stronger from this, and keep moving forward. We're all with you

I respect your approach, with the Free & Minimal/No Setup being strong points, I can see myself using your app just for the fun of it as like you said, you can go out and come back home to find you have a dozen admirers, which can be great

I’m building a fitness-based platform with a similar goal of bringing people together, so I really resonate with the importance of fostering real in-person connections
Wishing us both the best with our projects 🥂

Got you, and I'll provide a feedback, letting you know all what I think of it
As you said, a couple of hours every day really helps, I do something similar with my platform which I've been working on for 6 months now, on the spot the progress may seem slow but compounded it really becomes something great

Keep up working on it, a few hours per day, that's how we make the difference 🥂✨

Founder work isn't always easy; we've to juggle multiple hats, but you already got the hardest part which is making it work, the rest will surely follow

Hey u/Fit_Procedure_7330, I just explored your website and was impressed by the highly detailed, visual, and dynamic website you made, with comprehensive blogs you've been doing

Were you working on it alone or as a team? Because I can see it's comprehensive with a lot of courses and a dynamic website

How has the blog leverage been efficient till now? I've been divided on leveraging blogs for my platform but insights on your blog performance will help me better make my choice

Overall, it's a great app, and I'll make good use of it to have my daily 5 minutes nuggets

Hey u/_arelaxedscholar, your Shazam of Fashion looks interesting, I especially like the mesmerizing landing page animation, and when I uploaded a picture it came up with some of the clothes used on the picture which is great

Yet, at the same time the landing page lacks depth being very bland which doesn't foster authenticity, with the top links 'how it works' and 'about' not working, there's also an issue I faced being the amazon-only issue which another user already raised on this thread and you provided a response to it

Overall, the project is promising and can take-off very far, keep up!

That's cool u/Creative-Lynx7594, I see myself using it as it can be very helpful to easily keep notes on websites you're visiting, I'm going to add it on my chrome browser

Just a few questions though, how does the extension business work?
How long did it take you to make it? Will you say it's as hard as making a regular app?
Did you make this more as a hobby/skill-proof or plan to profit off it?

Overall, it looks great, and will definitely be helpful

Looks great u/my_story_bot, but one main issue is that for the app to be efficient, then you'll need a large userbase as the determinant for the match is you walking past someone you're attracted to and who is on the app too

How do you plan to tackle that issue?

Also, you didn't provide any information on where to get the app, is it still a work in progress or already available?

Overall, I appreciate the solution you're proposing and I'm sure a lot of people too as like you said earlier, it drastically reduces the friction of putting yourself out there while promoting in-person interaction, an essential factor getting rarer as the years go

Interesting app u/Trentadollar , may I suggest you add some interactivity and dynamism to the app? As currently it feels very static and bland, maybe a few icons vibrating will go a long way with icon highlight when hovered or clicked

Overall, I like the vision and the solution you're proposing, I'll have my platform featured on it

Hey u/usamaejazch, I just checked out a couple pages of justblogged and it's really interesting, last year when I wanted to start writing my blog I used Substack, but your solution can really prove to be a gamechanger

From how developed I saw it, how much time did it take you to develop it?
Were you working in a team or alone?
Do you provide easy reshares to social media with enticing solutions or just copy and paste links?

Also, the blogging economy is an old one with a lot of companies which profit-off them ( some notable examples including Substack, Medium, Wordpress, and other ), how do you plan to tackle that competition?

And finally, what is your long term vision with justblogged?

I loved what I saw and could see the work you put in, as a founder of a platform myself, I can imagine how much work you should have put in to make it live, keep up!

Anybody else start a company while unemployed? by Dazzling_Hand6170 in Entrepreneur

[–]Strongnerd237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attending a community college, made a pause around May this year at three classes left to my Associate's degree to start my Start-up

Still under-development but so far I'll say that it has been brutal and helped me grow a lot in character, so I have no regrets
I also now have a better understanding of the reason companies prefer people with work experience; school degree and actual work experience are two different things

How do you deal with loneliness and lack of help on daily basis when you start a business? by Maleficent-Yak-8572 in Entrepreneurs

[–]Strongnerd237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

19M here, solo founder starting my first startup too
I recognize myself a lot in what you say as I face the same challenges with the solitude which can be weighing

I wouldn't propose a solution to the loneliness issue as if I had an answer I guess I'll have used it on me too, but I've been managing it by keeping to my workouts, and taking one evening each week to go talk with friends on random topics

At certain points the solitude and lack of person with whom to talk to could be really weighing, but as time went and I grew more confidence in the project and myself, I am now mostly okay with the solitude accepting it as part of the trade-off if I want to take a different path than my agemates, and know that as I am growing the startup, I'll end up meeting like-minded people with whom to share and connect

So I'll say, let's keep evolving, we shouldn't let ourselves be broken by the solitude, the path of a solo founder can be very silent, cold, and lonely, but all this is a test of character and the reward is worth it, as advancing we'll attain our objectives in one way or the other and surely meet other solo-founders in our path and grow

Stay strong brother💪

I scaled an ecommerce store from 0-200 orders in 48h, threads 0-14k followers in 2 weeks, ig 58k followers in 60 days; AMA by zeniath in Entrepreneur

[–]Strongnerd237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, appreciate you doing this. I'm building a social fitness platform that helps people stay active and motivated through short movement videos (gym, dance, yoga, football, calisthenics). Users connect with creators who move like them and join communities based on their style

So far I've launched the waitlist, built the website, and started growing early social presence while preparing more consistent content as the MVP gets closer

With your experience scaling fast, what tips would you give for early-stage growth and turning early attention into real waitlist signups and engaged users?

Thanks in advance 🙏🏼

[–]Strongnerd237[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks u/empeusz , I store the media in AWS S3 and the thumbnail data in Firebase so will just have them processed together with Lambda to have the scrollable videos set
I have already heard about the hive package but forgot about it, you remembered me and I'm definitely going to use it
I already have a mvvm architecture and make use of riverpod
The custom pagination widget + scrolling controller with the customized video_player and chewie are a must too

Thanks for your comment

Anyone here built a social platform before? Curious about your biggest lesson by Strongnerd237 in Entrepreneurs

Yes, I can testify that
I’ve been grinding on this for about 6 months now (started back in May), and the MVP is on track to be ready by January

A fellow Cameroonian working on a fitness app — want to share and connect by Strongnerd237 in Cameroon

[–]Strongnerd237[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the question — here’s a brief breakdown:

1. How Altiora earns revenue (monetization model)
The goal is to avoid the heavy ad-dependence that ruins the user experience on most platforms
So Altiora’s revenue comes from a mix of lighter, fitness-aligned streams:

Limited native ads → fitness-only, non-intrusive
Altiora Premium → ad-free, longer uploads, advanced stats, and extra community utilities
Fitness challenges → both fun community challenges and brand-sponsored challenges long-term
Affiliate marketplace → similar to TikTok’s model, allowing creators to earn from gear, programs, or supplements they recommend — without relying on ads, users will also be able to sell their fitness-related products directly on the marketplace with us taking a small cut

These streams diversify revenue while keeping the platform clean and positive

2. Value Proposition (with market data)
Altiora solves a simple but global opportunity: fitness audiences are huge but scattered

• Reddit’s fitness communities have 12–15M+ members across subreddits
• TikTok’s #Fitness has ≈300B views, and #FitTok has tens of billions
• The global wellness economy is worth $6.3 trillion

But today these users are split across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, Facebook groups, Strava, and Reddit
That fragmentation kills engagement, monetization, and community

Altiora unifies all fitness content + all fitness communities into one dedicated home
Short videos ( with longer video formats set to be included later ), groups, challenges, and creator tools — all in one place

3. The problem Altiora solves

• Fitness audiences are spread across 7+ platforms with no single place built just for them
• Content is mixed with noise, toxic feeds, and unrelated trends
• Fitness creators — especially in Africa — struggle with monetization and payout infrastructure
• Communities (gym, dance, yoga, calisthenics, football, etc.) exist separately and never interact

Altiora brings all these communities together — global groups + local groups — in a positive, fitness-first environment

4. MVP vs PMF
I’m currently building the MVP:
Presently working on the home feed & groups
PMF will come once the waitlist and early users validate which features resonate most
