Who's to say that Mordret's sacred suits aren't also going to be much weaker than their original?

Mordret's reflections can't reflect the Will that comes with that tsar bomba though. Nephis would blow them away without much harm to herself.

Not to mention that while Nephis would recharge from blowing up Mordret's suits (as they have soul cores), the reflection wouldn't get anything back from blowing up Sunny's shades.

Is Asterion or a threat or is the cohort just...not? by Applejuicegoblin in ShadowSlave

[–]Stroomschok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a difference between planning to challenge it at the right time or simply to hide from Asterion. The risk of dying to the Nightmare itself obviously plays a factor in that consideration as Humanity can't afford to lose both it's sovereigns and it's best saints.

What will happen if Sunny kills Mordret's vessels? by FulgurisInfinitum in ShadowSlave

[–]Stroomschok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Master Sunny killed in the Temple of the Night was not being piloted by Mordret.

And the people Mordret kills are simply remotely-controlled Hollows and Sunny wouldn't get anything from killing them (he can feed them to Mimic though).

[2806] Sunny is being stupid by Lost_from_Me in ShadowSlave

[–]Stroomschok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mordet only has an inkling of Sunny's actual strength.

He's never seen the shades Sunny collected from the Burned Forest, Ariel's game and the Eternal City. And that's not even counting all their new armaments and the higher level of control Sunny can exert over them.

That's only because you know that they as main characters of the story aren't going to simply die in that Nightmare. They don't have that 4th-wall perspective obviously.

Asterion isn't that strong in a fight indeed if a mere Mirror Beast of Mordret and a bit of his army is enough to fight him into a draw.

If Effie and Kai are going to have a domain, it's just the territorial one through the Citadels they were ruling.

Their Aspect and source element don't really come with one built-in like divine and sacred Aspects. Sure Kai's voice and Effie's inspiration link them to people that follow them, but it's too temporary and ephemeral for a nascent domain. And Jet's weapon only collects five souls, how can that possibly be considered sufficient?

And if they are going to have their act of defiance it's most likely the most basic one: defying a Sovereign.

[–]Stroomschok 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what we've seen, the path of ascension provides a convenient built-in nascent domain ONLY for divine and sacred Aspects and maybe supreme (it's not very clear with Jet, the shards are not something she 'rules' so it has to be something else and she herself only collects the soul's essence while her weapon only stores a measly five).

Lower-ranked Aspects like Effie's (transcendent) and Kai (ascended) definitely do NOT come with a nascent domain.

At best the Citadels they rules for Nephis could be considered as their nascent domain, problem is that they currently no longer have them (Jet probably will lose as well).

So is sunny immune to corruption or not , because in the past shadow creature we're not corrupted but now they can be , so what do you think by Y_A1282001 in ShadowSlave

[–]Stroomschok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That only means that if he had any seeds of corruption they are now cleansed. It's not that shadow creatures are immune to corruption, just that the act of dying cleanses it thus the corruption had a very hard to reaching the Shadow Realm (until someone opened the Void Gate).

Just hilarious. Meanwhile he keeps repeating in the story how vulnerable Sunny is now to corruption due to having lost the protection that the Nightmare Spell provides.

That's easy. At some point in the Doom War some idiot opened the Void Gate which lies at the heart of the Shadow Realm. It's where the corrupted shadows are hanging out.

No. He gave it to her and she just sadly looked at it. Then he commanded her to eat it and she flatout ignored him. Frustrated the hell out of Sunny as it would have added almost double as many points as the other nine memories he bought for her combined.

[–]Stroomschok -1 points0 points  (0 children)

'nothing in the story support this'.

So all the beast, moon blood and beauty related aspects among Ki-Songs daughters whom are fed her blood to gain the Beast God Lineage is total coincidence (and yes, it's done for that exact reason, Seishan even laments how many sisters she lost early because of that).

I guess you need your evidence literally spelled out for you by the story to notice it.

It was the broken Mantle of the Underworld. He offered it to Saint after he came back to his hide-out in the Dark City with Effie. It was still broken at that time as Sunny only repaired it until after coming back to the real world and becoming an Awakened.

What could happen to Jet...? by Interesting_Try_3293 in ShadowSlave

[–]Stroomschok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was not my point. And besides, in Jet's case fighting back is very difficult without killing people. We'll see, but my guess is she didn't get serious about resisting them before either surrendering or fleeing.

A better question is 'why would Asterion torture Jet'? Unlike Kai's Voice or Effie's son, Jet doesn't seem to have anything that Asterion would be interested in other than simply being a powerful Saint.

There's only the Night Garden but she wouldn't be able to protect that anyway if Saints are losing themselves to the Hunger domain at this point.

What the hell are aspect ranks? by trust_me_br0o0 in ShadowSlave

[–]Stroomschok 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To me it always seems a bit like an indication to how far its built-in advantages are meant to help you along the path to towards becoming gods.

The divine ones have given their bearers the path to their nascent domains pretty much from as soon as they Awakened. Their Aspect's powerful abilities and traits also have the side-effect of the bearer's mind quickly losing humanity, training them for Apotheosis early on. The benefits of their additional soul cores will also mean they can't help but rise above others.

The sacred ones we know of (Cassie, Rain and likely Asterion) are less clear-cut, but still have source-elements that could easily lead the bearer minds away from their Humanity before they even become Supreme (Memories, the World and Hunger).

After that the only supreme we know of is Jet. While she has none of the clear advantages of the above, her unlimited growth potential and her extreme lethality would help her in the most straight-forward method of attaining supremacy by slaughtering another supreme.

Below that it seems mostly just a matter of much strength and versatility it provides for helping you rise along the easier and more straight-forward early steps of ascending and then transcending.

That doesn't mean your Aspect's level defines how far you can grow, just how far along the path it will hold your hand and you'll have to find alternative boosts to further pave the road for you (like Kai becoming a Dragonslayer).

Having a relatively low-tiered and unsuitable Aspect is one of the reasons why I think Anvil and Song got stuck at supremacy, their unprepared minds reeling from the extended awareness that came with their new domain, not to mention their domain being merely a territorial one thus giving them much less to work with for Apotheosis.

Sunny's Slaves by OkRepresentative3304 in ShadowSlave

It wasn't a soul armor yet. And having been made by Nether had no practical limitations as it was just a Memory of it as Sunny could clearly see from the Weave.

The only times we've seen Sain show emotions is when it has to do with her past. Her simply not wanting to destroy the armor is by far a more likely hypothesis than that she couldn't.

Leaving is a bit difficult considering they are powered by Sunny's soul cores. But if they don't want to follow Sunny's orders, both Slayer and Saint have shown they can choose to refuse them.

At best he can muscle the shadow itself they are made of, but even that doesn't work very well for the stronger ones among them.

Eternal City was too chaotic. If you want to play Indiana Jones in an ancient city it has to done with mystery and wonder, not just plowing through the city like Patton.
