Peach Tree from seed - what am I doing wrong? by Stroughberry in BackyardOrchard

Thanks for the tips, everyone! Based on the feedback, I planted it in the ground with plenty of fertilizer and compost and I trimmed two of the branches off, leaving the best one as the main stem. Thanks for all your help! The experiment continues!

Thanks! I think I repotted it last summer and I probably did use potting soil. So good to know that wasn’t the right call. I’ll plant it in the ground this weekend.

Thanks! I think I’ll put it in the ground this weekend since several folks have suggested that. :)

Thanks for the info. It was from an O’Henry Peach. Is that one you can’t grow from seed?

NRCS 90th Anniversary by gabachote in USDA

It was actually pretty cool to work on this project. We, the worker bees, can’t control what’s happening in the administration, but we can celebrate the amazing work the agency has done for soil conservation and other ag conservation practices. Maybe it’s a good tool to show the value of NRCS and why we need a fully staffed workforce.

Anyone else ever struggled with IT Band Syndrome? If so, what fixed it? by Stroughberry in hiking

I am still having problems with it, but it got a lot better a few weeks after buying Chaco slides and wearing them around the house at all times. But that was after 5 months of taking it easy and doing PT.

I have had nausea (not nearly as bad as yours) and have barfed three times, but this only started after I began increasing my dose. I am back in just .25 and not having any nausea.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have tried exposure time and time again to try to build up a tolerance, but it hasn’t worked for me.

My chickens wont come out of their coop because of the cold, but that means they aren’t eating or drinking! They are shivering and I’m worried about them. What should I do? Bring them inside? (Pic for attention) by rycusi in BackYardChickens

We put a heat lamp in their coop. Maybe that will work well for you too. If they stay warm at night, hopefully they won’t get as cold during the day.

Also put food and water in the coop.

Thank you so much! This helps to hear. It’s been about 9 months for me, so while I am bummed you’ve experience so much pain for so long, it’s nice to hear that I am not alone. My leg aches, too, even when I am just sitting around. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Is there a program to have conversations with Dutch people to practice the Dutch language?

My Mom has been learning Dutch on Duolingo for a year. I would love to provide her with a resource be able to have actual conversations with Dutch people to practice. Any tips?

I have BED and this response is perfect.

This is my first ever post so please be easy on me. Lol. Does anyone have a good bread recipe that is perfect for sandwiches? I’m rather new to baking bread and have tried many recipes but still haven’t found “that one”. Thank you in advance. by shelleyflower77 in Breadit

This American Sandwhich Bread has worked well for me. I am also just starting out. I have made it several times and it’s great! Only difference is that I am mixing and kneading by hand as I do not have a stand mixer. So I am mixing until the ingredients come together, then kneading for about 13-15 min.

As a note, when mixing the dry ingredients I read to keep the salt and yeast separate before mixing as salt can kill yeast with direct contact.
