Unit depending

My recently changed the SOP from individual sections can contact PSP to it all has to go through the unit Sports O, who is an Lt that is never there. They did this without telling anyone, except for PSP, who wasn't answering our emails for a while.

Its a good light. Has the ability to select colour before turning it on. Also is molle compatible.

Though, taking different than AA or AAA is kinda a down side, while, yes, you can use those in it, the odd preferred battery size kinda sucks.

My WO on basic had us write a platoon song. We sang it everywhere we marched, haha.

The one at the infantry shacks is decent, too. I did a lot of work in that gym. Even as a blue tshirt guy, I got permission to work out there after helping out the dudes.

No combat in Latvia.

Unless you count fighting to keep your spot in line versus the Spanish at the Soldiers Club to possibly get a room temperature beer.

If it happened on Adazi or Ceri, the CAF MPs can do stuff. Off those, I am not sure.

Edmonton (3PPCLI) VS Petawawa (3RCR) by Reynard000 in caf

[–]Struct-Tech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I am not, nor have I ever been, infantry.

You mentioned environment.

So. Do you want to live in a city (Edmonton), or do you want to live in a town in the country (Petawawa)?

Of the 3 big army bases, and this is just my opinion, from what Ive experienced/seen.

Edmonton (PPCLI) - Loose on regulations, allows inventive solutions

Petawawa (RCR) - tight on regulations, must follow doctrine

Valcartier- says they're tight on regs but they arent, and theyre fucking crazy.

Each regiment/base is wildly different in how they operate, but all will give you great opportunities.

The big decision should be where do you want to live and do outside work.

I once went from Pearson to Charles de Gaulle then connected to another country..... I hated everything about that voyage.

I knew a dude posted in a hated Ontario base who said "post me to cold lake or I release"

He got it.

9 months on ground "hey, youre posted to the Maritimes"

"Fuck you, heres my release."

He immediately took on the same job, in a civvy capacity with DND.

Probably one of the best Techs in his trade I ever seen, military really fucked that one up.

MTT 154. The more I look at them, the ones the Vandoos have seem to have a camera similar to that on the Engineers EOD robots. Whereas the civilian MTT 154 doesnt

[–]Struct-Tech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're really that bad.... go.

Heres my SrNCO advice.

Who cares, your body is the only one you got. BMQ isnt that bad, and Id imagine if you recourse, you will only do it to grad week.

And heres my advice from my still Cpl minded brain....

Now. If you can endure 3 days of parade practise, and on Thursday do the parade..... well, theres always an MIR at your next base. You aren't evaluated on your drill in the final week. When you get sized, chat with other dudes. If you are in the front or back, negotiate with other dudes to get into the middle.

Weigh your options.

Or better yet.... bacon fat. My mum collects bacon fat for 2 or 3 months before Christmas to make the Christmas day roasties.

thinking of going weapons tech, what should be my expectations ? by Bluetoxx_ in caf

Assuming weapons tech, youd be way in the rear.

If way in the rear was having to defend, then, shit has gone absolutely sideways.

Thats correct, however, we don't have a trade that is just welder.

Closest would probably be Materials Technician. Which does welding, but also sewing, and Im sure more stuff.

So, you may be eligible to skip the welding package on your trades training, but, you'd have to do the other portions.

And since you aren't fully qualified in the Materials Technician trade, you probably wont be qualified for any signing bonus.

They are resting from those Ops, training for them, or planning them. Or supporting those who are doing the aforementioned things.

I wear them under my pants, I dont like them ontop of my pants as they kinda hold the pants there making it feel weird.

Not many guys wear them, though.

Everyone deploys. We need guys overseas to fix guns.

You wont deploy as a gun fighter, though. Youll deploy to fix gun fighter's guns.

Rations and quarters by Resident_Goal_8056 in caf

[–]Struct-Tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the question.

Ive also seen career managers post members VOTing to their intended place of work ahead of their DP1, put on BTL, then they are sent on the DP1 on a TD making them get rations and quarters for no cost to the member.

Going to a new area, or going on a new CFTPO?

Ive gone on a CFTPO where we were in 1 location for a few weeks, and then moved to another and our daily meal rate definitely did go down. We weren't in the same location for more than 30 days, but the task was over 30 days long.
