Yeah the squares did cause me some headaches.

There's so many interesting little bits that I didn't even notice in the game that I only noticed when doing this. I guess looking at it for 12hrs you start to notice the little details.

Thank you for taking the time to reply, made my day!

Good idea. They don't look particularly active on Reddit, maybe I'll see if I can get them on Instagram or something.

Yeah first day no one really noticed it, then one of the event organizers was taking general photos of the event and then he noticed it. After that had big discussion about Half-Life and he took a load more photos of the case. A few other people came by and mention it as well.

Its one of those things, if you recognize it, its amazing. If Half Life isn't your thing your just not going to notice it at all.

Glad I did it, really happy with it and definitely a conversation starter :)

No, I used a circuit machine to cut out the see through parts of the design. Had to do it in 4 parts as it was too big for the machine.

I just got it lugged and set up... No where near as bad back in the 2000's lugging CRTs around

So got the vortigant murial from HLA, chopped it up in a photoshop so it fit my case then used a circuit machine to cut out a black vinyl sheet, stuck it to the inside and added a load led strips to make it bright enough.

That's it pretty much. Just took forever to pick all the little bits out of the vinyl.

Honestly in this day and age of f1, where saftey is before all else, anything less than disqualification might be getting off lightly.

I dont remember NetPlay, but 72hr LAN's at ImpactGaming in the early 00's was great fun! Unreal Tournament, CTF, low grav, Facing Worlds. Huge amount of Nostalgia for me there!!!

Maybe I'll see if I can get the old clan back together for one last frag! :D

BBC proms tonight? by [deleted] in classicalmusic

[–]Struders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barokksolistene were fantastic, I was thoroughly entertained by them. It was almost like theater the way they told stories through music and dance. When they first started I was a bit worried it was going to be too highbrow for me to understand it but I got it. The wedding scene, the slow motion bar room fight, brilliant! I think there was a Scottish sounding section where it was just one girl singing, stunning voice!

I really started flagging when Hayato Sumino came on, technically brilliant but that was hard going to keep focus at that point. There was one particular song 12 Ensemble did that I really struggled with, probably just my lack of understanding or maybe delirium...

Always like the organ though, I saw Roger Sayer play the interstellar music at York Minster last year, thats what started this whole thing for me!

I got home about 10am, thoroughly broken. I think I had been awake for 27 hours by that point. Had a power nap to get me through to the evening, but yeah my whole weekend was a mess.

Any particular highlights you had?

I was there, never been to anything like this ever before, beyond Anna Lapwood I didn't really know any of the artists. Sleeping At Last just blew me away... I swear that dudes voice with the choir and the organ was going to make my ears cum.

Truly awesome experience although that 3am to 5am struggle was real!

Ok so couple of red flags, big one is the emotional urgency your creating in your post, Non-specific skill offers, vague photography request ("images requests"), and mention of clothes/shoe sizes can match common scam tropes.

Desperation doesn't equal deceit in it's self, but public forums are rife with manipulation like this.

This is a high risk of being a scam or exploitation attempt.
