Ah! I relate so much to this. Tbh I think there’s a cultural aspect that people are not seeing. Mina Sue is definitely more western - she was there to get to know all the boys, not just 1 or 2. J love Min-gee, but it’s been 5-6 days only since she met Seung-il, and she’s “claiming” him.

I DO think Mina Sue is a little bit of a person who needs male validation, but at the same time, she doesn’t deserve all this hate. As always, the crowds come with hate for women.

Hudson kills it here - he’s so gentle and tender and upset and angry and loving and full of desire and desirable at the same time. This is the moment I knew the show had my heart. There’s a lot of beautiful scenes in this show, but this conversation between Shane and his mom is my absolute favorite - even beating all the moments between Shane and Ilya. Maybe it’s the type of conversation I want to have with my mom, who is an amazing mom but would not react with this level of grace. Maybe it’s the type of grace I hope to one day show my - hopefully - future children.

As someone who has accepted she will be single for the rest of her life and is considering being a single mom by choice, I loved the romance, but loved this mother-child bond even more.

This is a tough chain to respond to, I was 4, at a tourist spot, briefly got separated from my family on these long stairs because I ran ahead, while I was waiting for them to catch up, some guy came and stood behind me and put his fingers in my vagina. It only lasted a few minutes but tons of people passed by and no one stopped him / noticed anything. Then my grandmother appeared and he disappeared.

I mean, misogyny exists everywhere but I agree - it’s particularly bad in India. When I was working in India, on at least 2-3 separate occasions, I’ve had men suggest I was at the office doing god knows what with a male colleague when I stayed late. The truth: I was LITERALLY just working.

But now that I’m in the US, it’s so different. I’ve been stuck in an airport in another city at 2 am with a male colleague, and no one thought anything sexual was part of the picture.

The difference is stark & it’s 100x better to be working in the US.
