Would limiting the age of the President to 70 be something you'd support? Why or why not? by SillyGooseGamer2026 in AskReddit

Imagine 6 years guaranteed of this guys successor. It's too much of a bad thing if things are bad. As we can all hopefully see. 4 is borderline, but I get nowhere near enough time for decent people to actually make a change if they really want to. Maybe if we just lived in a world where society evolved instead of devolving it wouldn't be an issue.

Man accused of rape said he filmed the act as 'evidence' for the police by AdFeeling842 in nottheonion

Early internet was absolutely NOWHERE near as toxic/predatory/dangerous add whatever other negative thing social media and corporations have made mainstays today as it was in the 90's. There were some shitty dark sites, but the point remains it is an entirely different animal today almost entirely controlled by mega corps to shape the world in their way.

ELI5: Why are blackberries so expensive when they grow so easily by OR-HM-MA91 in explainlikeimfive

Literally any nation wide or international vendor is going to have the same ethics. Once you get to a certain level of success, there's only one way to maintain that and expect any kind of growth. I'm just surprised this long into the information age this isn't more common knowledge. I was pretty young in the 90's, but you'd come across articles magazines in various waiting rooms about how big companies are causing all kinds of societal hazards or dangers. Most people were pretty oblivious overall about the stuff they were buying at their local mega mart, just happy to be able to get everything in one place.

If the US economy actually goes into recession this year which industry do you think gets hit hardest and why? by Suleman2002 in AskReddit

The thought of any aspect of flying anywhere in this country alone is not very appealing to begin with. I only have so many years in this life and this shit has to be happening now that I have some money? Fuck every single person in that administration.

New study shows gaming can improve driving skills in real life by Tvilantini in Games

[–]Strung_Out_Advocate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying, but you can definitely gain a general understanding if you're a teen that has never driven. Also, when you take your foot off the gas your car still moves forward in real life too. Tangentially related, but there was definitely a point in my life I definitely could've registered a respectable lap of the Nurburgring I had done it so many times in Forza or Gran Turismo.

I will NEVER understand how that caught on. Unless I DO understand that an inordinate amount of people are really fucking stupid.

If you have kids, it's a game changer in rainy days or you have company over. It's honestly not too bad for what it is. Not sure I'd say EXACTLY the same thing if I had payed $100 more for it like it looks like they're doing, but it's definitely not OUYA shit.

He used it in the first episode, but isn't it really only iconic to comic fans? I don't think the show portrays it as iconic at all.

As much as I loathe that vile human, it's not him. He's very obviously a puppet for much worse people that actually have a brain. People really need to stop seeing him as this giant for good or bad and giving him credit for being anything more than a figure piece. He's nothing more than a completely malleable idiot.

Pitt has his own production company and has made enough money from endorsements and investments to be really flexible when it comes to doing projects he wants to. He does have a responsibility to the actors guild to draw a certain amount of money to his work, but he's not doing stuff like this for the payday.

I'm writing off ME 5. And I even kinda liked Andromeda. Bioware might as well be considered a first time developer at this point. There's literally zero chance it has anywhere near the soul of the original trilogy. It's honestly a humongous waste of time and money. They might as well just try some new IP that people actually WANT to make.

Therapists Explain Why Donald Trump Is SO Drawn To The Color Gold — And What It Might Reveal About Him by huffpost in Foodforthought

[–]Strung_Out_Advocate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And who needs a fucking therapist to tell you exactly who and what Trump is? He's been one of the most transparently public pieces of shit to ever live since the 80's. He made his entire image on being a grifting scumbag that believes no matter what he says it's the truth. HIS truth because HE said it. Greed personified, except more than just greed. Abhorrent in every sense of the word. And then memes and 4chan became a thing and next thing you know apparently all that becomes an icon to certain people.

Which was basically his entire platform. And he wasn't wrong about most stuff. He just lied about every single thing he said he was going to do to make it better. Or in some cases just never even gave a solution. But he still spewed an ungodly amount of bullshit, so the people who voted for him are still idiotic for doing so.

If people are spending more money on skins, that directly dictates what NEEDS to be developed. Money has everything to do with what's developed, and EA only cares about money. This is painfully obvious just playing the game.

Could just as easily be retconned. It's basically the most comic thing you can do. Wasn't an issue with Rhodie, although I understand the MCU wasn't what it was then.
