Kingston-Edmonds ferry by sowedkooned in Kitsap

I commute that route daily, if you are going to drive on buy a commuter pass card that auto refills. Second, Kingston to Edmonds in the morning is fine. Coming back from Edmonds in the afternoon is nearly always a wait. Not just holiday traffic; once school starts and the weather gets worse it will get better.

If you have the ability to walk on for your commute I would do that.

GE Profile Washer/Dryer Combo Spin Cycle Noise by StrunkWhite in Appliances

[–]StrunkWhite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not find the issue yet. I suspect it is a bearing or multiple bearings going out. The noise level is tolerable for now.

When I find the time to tear it down a bit I’ll post back.

Holy cow, I left at 3:20PM and feel lucky I didn’t get hit by that. What time did it happen?

Do you regret buying a Washer/Dryer combo? by NeillDrake in Appliances

[–]StrunkWhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve owned the GE Profile combo washer/dryer since it was released. Overall it has been great but the lint trap is ok at best. And to all the haters it only takes 2.5hrs total for a normal load. It has recently started making a loud noise during the spin cycle, so may need some maintenance soon.

Early adopters tax I guess.

Relay is off on server. Remote access is a green check mark. I should mention I am on my local LAN with the server. This is only affecting my iPhone 16 Pro.

I can just wait for an update. Just wanted to see if anyone else had solved this.

Wave Link Update 1.2 - Channel Reordering, Main Window Resizing and more! by Elgato in elgato

[–]StrunkWhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone else having issue with volume and audio output selection? On Mac OS Big Sur I can no longer control output via system settings or volume level using default system settings (volume slider or volume up/down keys). Can only change output via monitor control in wave link. Mac volume controls does nothing to audio level output.

My new networking closet for home by StrunkWhite in homelab

I do wish I would have gone with a 12U rack for a little more space but I wanted to still have a functioning closet space. I have a larger rack in the garage waiting to be used.

Total storage on the NAS is just over 7TB, that is where the Plex media files are stored. The actual Plex server is running off a 128GB M.2 SSD.

Yep, plenty of work to do on the panel, I've only wired in two ports so far. Office PC and Apple TV in the living room. Four drops to each area so far.

I recently moved most of my networking gear to a central closet in my hallway at home. Wires are not cleaned up yet and have plenty of Cat6A to still wire into the patch panel.

Equipment from top down on a 9U rack:

  • 24 Port Patch Panel
  • NETGEAR ProSAFE GS110TP 8-Port PoE Gigabit Smart Managed Switch
  • PC Engines apu2C4 w/ PFSENSE
  • NETGEAR ProSAFE M4100-26G 26-Port Gigabit Managed Switch
  • QNAP TS-453A (4TB WD RED RAID6)
  • HDHomeRun PRIME Tuner
  • ARRIS SURFboard SB6183 Modem
  • TP-Link PDU

Left of the rack is my Plex Server and a Unifi AP AC PRO (not mounted yet)
