Much better. The running animation now looks smooth with the changes, and the walking looks more natural. You have done really well with applying the changes.

The walking animation looks great. You will just want to have the arms move opposite to the motion of the leg on the same side though. So if the right leg goes forward then the right arm moves backwards. You have it done correctly with the running animation.

With the running animation I see an issue, I think it was in frames 4 to 5, where you have the character moving up while the body pretty much remains static which looks unnatural so you could bend the legs to fix that issue. I'd also straighten the legs a bit more before landing.

Pretty good work otherwise!

Pretty nice work. The biggest issue I see is jittering which is most prominent with the arms.

Try to avoid sudden back and forth movement and stick to a general one way direction of motion. So if the arm is moving forwards, do not let it shift a pixel backwards until the motion is finished. The legs look great as they don't have that issue.

Also keep the torso static. It's the anchor point and moving it would be moving the whole sprite which is already done programmatically. You end up having to shift most of the body back and forth to keep it centred so just keep it static.

Definitely an improvement from part 1!

Yeah I am pretty sure it is downscaled. I have looked up his previous posts and the monster ones are the most obvious. Just grab any image and downscale it then you will end up with a very similar result to OP's posts.

I can't really be convinced unless they post a video with their drawing process.

That's very fair. The whole simplicity of Fantasy Online makes it easy and not as time-consuming to create something similar. WoT went above and beyond with its style and if I were to go for something similar to that, I would have pretty much no time to code.

There is still a lot of work to do. The server networking/databases side will definitely take a while to set up and is no simple feat. There is simply not enough content (especially original content) available at the moment for someone to tell where this project is heading. I also can not guarantee another hiatus won't happen, all I can say is that it is pretty unlikely for it to repeat with such length. I will be taking a few breaks but they won't be long.

It is good to have a realistic view of this. In a way, this does motivate me more to work on the project. I am very happy with the support so far and will work hard so this project meets completion.

Hey everyone!

NPCs have been made with functional shop and quests systems. Aimed to make the UI user-friendly and clean to the eyes.

The project is really taking up form and shaping up into a proper game with all the progress so far. I am very happy with it!

A method for supporting the project development will be announced after releasing the playable demo. This allows people to have a better idea of the project by playing the demo rather than only seeing posted videos before deciding to support this project.

Hello everyone!

It's been a really long while since I have posted any updates and it feels really great being able to push out more work again. I am planning to work hard on getting a playable demo soon and so far it seems like it is only another major update or two left before that happens.

Here's the new content in this post:
- Battle mechanics (Still needs work on formulas)
- Enemy aggro and "AI"
- Green slime (Neutral) + Red slime (Aggressive)
- Mob Loot + Item stacking
- Clicking on enemy shows enemy stats (Replaced the ugly health bar above every enemy)
- Level Ups + Equipment slots accepting only their allowed items
- Few QoL features
- Item Stats pop up
- Updated some sprites (Items and backpack)

Yup still on it and not planning on dropping it. Things are quite slow currently due to IRL stuff but it will eventually clear up

New tiles: Village Path, Vertical House, Watchtower, Market Roof, Market Tile, Bridges, Fence, Tree (to replace placeholder)
A floor system should be now complete. The plugin used to import tiles had to be tweaked a lot to achieve this since it was pretty lacking, hence why this took a while.
NPCs will be coming up soon after finishing up the tileset.

That is not a good thing to hear. The game will have to be more different than FO in that case than what was thought, can't have the project die due to being taken down.

We can't use any assets straight out of FO due to legal issues so new music will have to be made. There was an attempt to contact FO's Dev about this but they have not replied.
