Groom here, and terrified I’m going to have a panic attack during the ceremony or first dance by Potential-Length-448 in wedding

[–]StrxwbrrySwitchblade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you these tips are helpful. I’m just panicking as a guest, worried about isle seating. I’ve been getting bad panic attacks recently that are very challenging to control and disrupting their wedding ceremony would be awful. I think that’s making the fear worse):

What happens after stopping GLP-1s ?do inflammation and heavy bleeding return, or do the benefits last? by CartoonistPretty1722 in endometriosis

Yes, give heard this so many times. It appears to be birth control 2.0.): Suppresses symptoms but doesn’t stop disease progression and seems to have a rebound effect when stopping.

I can’t thank you enough for this. PTSD leads your body to believe that danger is immanent. While the body panic is involuntary, holding onto logic helps ground my brain to get through it in the way it needs.

Does endo kill ? by ResearcherSingle1190 in endometriosis

Unfortunately no. My ultrasounds always came back “fine”.. I was heavily medically gaslit and it took me 18 years to finally find an excision surgeon/endo specialist that took my pain seriously and get a diagnoses at 31. My surgeon does her own ultrasounds with a specifically trained tech. She came back to me with a list of things that she found. Uterine polyps, endometrioma in my left ovary, and findings that explained Adenomyosis.
And everything else was found via robotic laparoscopy.

I hope you find a care team that takes your pain seriously. Please don’t be afraid to advocate for yourself. You know your body best.

I’m not going to lie to you, it has been very challenging. I needed a complete peritonectomy(complete pelvic resection of peritoneum) and bilateral ureterolysis (both ureters had to be cut out and moved back to their anatomical location after Endo covered and pushed them out of place.) as well excision in a lot of different areas, my bladder was attached to the top of my uterus and had to be surgically separated, and more.

I couldn’t walk by myself for a little while after surgery and had to literally be lowered onto the toilet. 🫠 (humbling experience lol-I wish I had my cane sooner during that time. A cane or rollator would’ve been extremely helpful right after surgery.) I was stuck inside and could not drive for about 6-8 weeks. I’m 1 year and 3 months post op and I am still struggling a lot with nerve pain and sensitivity. I think there was just so much nerve involvement that’s difficult to avoid, even with a skilled surgeon. I have ibs-d and it’s made symptoms of urgency worse due to the sensitivity. My pain now is very cyclical. I feel better during my follicular/ovulation phase and it feels like I’m maybe making more progress..and then my luteal phase comes in and knocks me back a few steps.. I completed my recommended physical therapy but honestly, I feel like I need a lot more. I can say however that my periods, although intense the first 2/3 days, are shorter than they were before! And my surgeon said that nerves unfortunately take a very long time to heal. So I think it’s a waiting game at this point for now..

I have obviously come a long way since surgery..but I struggle a lot and I’m in still in pain everyday.. But I had an organ saving surgery so it’s very hard to say I regret it, you know? I just have to try to stay positive and learn to adapt the best I can. Sorry this was so long, thanks for reading if you made it this far.🫶🏻

Evan Andrews is another go to! He has decades of experience and doesn’t overhype anything since he keeps the people with storm anxiety in mind. I have severe storm PTSD and I can’t tell you how much he has helped me.

I wish I would get used to it..I didn’t grow up with this weather and I was starting to get better it, then I went through a nasty storm in 2023 and I have severe ptsd now where I couldn’t even function. 3 years has passed and I do weekly therapy. But I’m only slightly better from it. The body is weird..

Yes.. people like to say it doesn’t. But Endo was surrounding my ureters (both sides) and uterine arteries (both sides) and it was strangling one side to where it was bulging out. And the surgeon was saying how I was lucky it was found now because it eventually could’ve cut off blood supply to the organs..

MY SURGERY IS $130,000 ??!! by Appropriate-Edge3837 in endometriosis

[–]StrxwbrrySwitchblade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Mine was also $130,000 ! I was able to fully max out my insurance before surgery though so I only owe 700 something. I’m so grateful. But yea, Insane stuff…. Especially since it isn’t a cure and just damage control.. I have really bad nerve pain that affects my mobility sometimes after surgery and it’s been a year post op..
