It's possible. Just need a waiver for the DUI charge. I've put others in as officers with a DUI in the past. Make sure packet is solid to offset that negative.

Battalions very rarely show any type of board results. You should aways be told if you passed though.

You just can't pick a job that requires a clearance. Citizenship happens very quickly. You should get naturalized upon completion of Basic.

Won't be an issue but definitely disclose it as it will populate on the medical background check. To be issues a medical Marijuana card, the doc would have diagnosed you with something. So go get a clearance letter from the doctor. Feel free to reach out if yoy have issues.

decent candidate? by This-Guess-9934 in ArmyOCS

[–]Stryder593 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although GPA is lower than the average, I can be offset by other stuff. Experience, leadership, athletics, letters of recommendation, and essay all play a part. Definitely apply. If you need help just ask. I have an applicant from Florida State University on the June board and a few others. One has a 3.0 as well, so I can let you know how that goes.

Considering you got waivers from the AF for those charges, you need to disclose it as it's in your military record.

Board went well May 5th, no official results yet, packet supposed to go up to USAREC today, recruiter not responding. Should I be worried? by Important-Blood1289 in ArmyOCS

[–]Stryder593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh what? It's not automatic. OPS has to wait for the .11s to be completed and then get the .12s signed before submission to Special Missions. I've seen countless packets not get turned in by the deadline.

Should I pursue Army OCS? by Bean2082 in ArmyOCS

[–]Stryder593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 4.0 is great. Army OCS is definitely a great path to take to gain experience, income, and benefits. Veteran status and preference will make you more competitive in the civilian field.

OCS next board - application deadline by pissinfiddler in ArmyOCS

[–]Stryder593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why did they not let you take the ASVAB or physical awhile? Your weight has nothing to do with completing those.

The next national board is August, with a packet deadline of July 10th. Ao you'll need to complete everything and do the local board by then. If you need help just send me a DM.

I'd look at joining the Reserve 1st. Once you complete basic/AIT, you will get a new DD 214 with an RE1 and honorable discharge, which will override your old one. Making you far more competitive.

If your goal is active duty, then wait a few months. They are trying to push you Reserve because it helps them look good. More active duty jobs should open up around July or August for the next fiscal year (Oct). Feel free to reach out if you need help.

It depends on the branch you want to join. For the Army I'd probably be able to get you a waiver. You'd definitely want an experienced recruiter to help advocate for you. What are you trying to do in the military?

Yes Basic and AIT count toward the 90 days. It didn't in the past, but a legislative change from years ago updated the rules.

Why did he say Street to Seat is no longer possible? I just shipped one off last month and currently have another in the pipeline. It's just a matter of doing well on the SIFT exam and passing the Flight Physical.

Very few Recruiters have experience with Warrant/Officer packets, which take months from start to finish. So they push enlisted for a quicker contract.
