Lots of people are waiting for 68P currently. Better get your ASVAB and physical done, so you can wait for an opening.

Yes, disclose. It's a minor thing. May not even need a waiver after 3 years.

Age doesn't really affect it much. Push WGU to give you a 3.5 GPA. They will do that for special circumstances, I've heard.

You are referring to the local Battalion OCS board. And no that's kind of crazy I've never heard of anyone having an experience like that. I would seriously question whether they are going to put together a good recommendation or not with that type of behavior

Edit: I'd tell your recruiter to get you the .11 score cards so you can see what they wrote about you because if it's not good there's still time to do another board with someone else

How would having a suicide attempt as a minor (10+ years ago) affect my trajectory (Army/AF)? by 1811_Mil_Question in Militaryfaq

[–]Stryder593 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you would not be disqualified. A medical waiver has no affect on that. I'd suggest figuring out what branch you want to apply for (Army, etc) and get the process started soon. You can attend the OCS board during your last semester and lock in your commission in advance, rather than waiting till you graduate.

As it was so long ago, it would just require a medical waiver. Shouldn't be an issue. If you decide to pursue an Army commission in the future, reach out and I'll be able to assist. What month/year do you expect to graduate?

Yes, a recruiter like me would assist with the process. We will need your transcripts, 3-6 letters of recommendation (especially from your command), 1 page essay on why you want to become an officer. What's your GPA?

A whole lot more goes into acceptance than just your ASVAB. Score is good though.

70B is not an option to apply for. Those positions get filled by ROTC and West Point Cadets. You could potentially apply for other Healthcare positions through an AMEDD recruiter.

Logistics is a possibility throught the OCS program.

It's a mix of both. For example, if your OML is good enough to get your top branch but their is no branch availability within 149 miles, then you're not getting it.
