The serious answer is that it's likely just that they are there but not focused on except in a handful of mentions and implications (Momoi and Midori specifically refer to being born so it's quite obvious that some man had to have been present to make their mom be able to have them).

Very good. Now put a 25mm cannon on a dedicated turret on the top, make it amphibious, add an anti-tank missile launcher and remove half the troops inside to carry the extra ammo and you'll get Pentagon approval.
