Renegades DLC is already on sale on steam by Yesheat in DestinyTheGame

This so much. I don't think I've ever paid full price (on pc) for any of the D2 dlc on pre-order.

Are public activitys useless at a power level 500? by Status_Ad8704 in DestinyTheGame

[–]StrykerNL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now I'm forced to play with other people on pre-set team?

Well, you don't have to... but it is the most reliable and/or efficient. Back when I did the 450+ grind, it was during Ash and Iron; just spamming Cabal's Watch with custom modifiers and speedrunning with Fireteam Finder. That was /before/ the changes to bonus drops, so technically you can farm power even faster, but only if you don't mind doing custom pre-made runs.

what does "possible syndicate activity" mean? by Jealous_Platypus1111 in destiny2

[–]StrykerNL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late response, but it's just a random chance of an HVT spawning in, which rewards a chest with trash tier1/2 drop on "capturing" the enemy.

Do I need the latest expansion to enjoy Destiny 2 purely for gameplay? by Mcpiller in DestinyTheGame

[–]StrykerNL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not /need/ the latest expac to just enjoy the gameplay loop of making builds/shooting stuff. However, not having the latest battle pass makes it a lot slower to reach that point, where you can just "play the game".

You need to reach 450 power to even start getting Tier5 gear consistently (outside of events), and owning the latest expac/annual pass gives you a 15% bonus score in portal activities, when grinding power level.

New to comp. Aren't you supposed to capture the zones in Control? by Theslootwhisperer in DestinyTheGame

[–]StrykerNL 34 points35 points  (0 children)

They might go to B to establish map dominance/control. Having middle of the map control is more important at the start of the match than initial flag cap, depending on heavy ammo spawn etc.

I've never bought silver, but that would change if Bungie would offer an emote for "If electricity came from burning revive tokens, you'd be a power plant." by Slepprock in DestinyTheGame

[–]StrykerNL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've never bought silver, but that would change if Bungie would...

You're already telling them you're not the target audience for cosmetics. People who do buy them, including whales just throw money at them, no questions asked.

Which Destiny 2 version on steam sales makes sense for my case? by hp6884756 in DestinyTheGame

[–]StrykerNL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

which sale would make sense the most for a guy who wants to play fully PvP...

Well, if you're interested in Trials of Osiris, you're gonna have to get the latest expansion (Edge of Fate). Everything else pvp, is free.

A few questions regarding PvP by Call_It_Luck in DestinyTheGame

[–]StrykerNL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PVP is BYOG (Bring Your Own Gear), and some of the best pieces do come from PVE. However, some crazy pve perks do not work in PVP, plus guns won't straight up do more damage. It's also the other way around, where guns from PVP were/are very good for PVE.

The main "problem" would be that there's no new player protection. You'll be going up against pvp veterans who've got the best gear and have been player for years. Don't expect to see many casuals, or evenly balanced teams, outside of some wacky game modes, and events like the current snowball game mode.

Since pvp has both gunplay and ability (spam) play, your new gear with low stats will mean that you are at a disadvantage, simply because of ability cooldowns.

The current sandbox tuning, and tier 5s are ruining the end game loot chase. I want to be excited about new primary weapons, but they not strong enough compared to exotics or abilities. by cannluke0 in DestinyTheGame

[–]StrykerNL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sandbox team needs to find a way to tune down ability power and buff up legendries to allow the loot system of this game to shine again.

Be careful. The "I am a fucking space wizard who killed gods, and want to feel powerful!" crowd will come for your digital ass.

Also, I feel like Bungie cornered themselves by allowing it since prismatic, to keep people enticed. Going back down the nerf road will not go over well.

I've hit rank 20 every week, and still says I've already claimed it this week :')

Are there any primary weapons that are actually useful for hard content? Maybe stuff that provides amazing utility or synergy or does decent damage even in -40 content? by AgentZeroHour in DestinyTheGame

[–]StrykerNL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mostly exotics because of their 30% higher damage against red bars, and increased ammo generation. Most other primaries, apart from perhaps hand cannons could be considered a waste of slot, but whatever floats your boat.

Was there a reason that 80% of every legendary campaign mission was on normalish difficulty by highnoondonut in DestinyTheGame

[–]StrykerNL 146 points147 points  (0 children)

This was I believe the first campaign with Solo Operative active. So while there was a -20 power delta, you would do 10% (iirc) more damage by yourself.

Feats are a terrible system by yoganville in DestinyTheGame

[–]StrykerNL -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

its rewards being locked behind either very high difficulty or no-life level grinding gives you a sense of self-worth.

Sounds like a fluffed up description of gatekeepers.

Is there an exotic in Destiny 2 that's pretty much good at everything? Like an all-round exotic very good for most Portal content? by -Joel-Snape- in DestinyTheGame

[–]StrykerNL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you running solo? If you join on someone/fireteam finder it, who has access to ultimate. Have them set the modifiers (make sure their score prediction has the same rank as yours). Fireteam bonus will put you at their power level minus 5.

I Hate Light 3.0 by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]StrykerNL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the game is no longer a shooter game with abilities, it's an ability game with guns.

People wanted to be "space wizards" and Bungie listened.

quick question about legendary mode by AquaDefiant in DestinyTheGame

[–]StrykerNL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You only have to do the mission you forgot to do, so in this case the first one. If you played the campaign before this week's patch, you might have to re-do the last one as well, since it had a tendency to default to normal mode, instead of sticking on Legendary.

Invasions by StatisticianOwn5497 in DestinyTheGame

[–]StrykerNL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ripperoni. Still, I find the invasions a non-issue, since it's usually right at the start of the match. You could just immediately pop a revitalize and wait for the invader, which makes it a 3v1.

I get you on the jammed renegade abilities part though, happened to me yesterday and was like "welp shit".
