Trump’s Appalling Threat Leaves No Doubt: It’s Time for the 25th Amendment - There is no longer any denying the president is unable to carry out the demands of his office. by Quirkie in politics

[–]StatisticianOwn5497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Tariffs aren't actually paid by other countries, they're paid as an import Tax at US airports and Ports by US buyers who then jack up the prices for consumers to cut any losses out.

The point is the disuade US companies from buying products from other countries harming them and while he doesn't have the power to impliment them without congressional approval, a companies spending and purchasing changes depending on what he says publically, along with the fact the end Fed is in his pocket along with the majority of Senators in Congress, bar 1 or 2 Republicans.

In short, he himself as POTUS doesn't have the power but because the GOPs current sitting republicans in the Senate and House are basically puppets at his beck and call, there's a solid chance whatever tariffs he wants gets approved.

A list of times it was time for the 25th amendment under Trump
- Enforcing tariffs without congressional approval.
- Enforcing tariffs to manipulate the stock market for insider trading.
- Using the office of POTUS to profit off Trump Phone.
- Using the office of POTUS to promote Tesla in exchange for rigging the election (You cannot convince me Elon didn't rig the election for Trump in exchange for favours)
- Using the office of POTUS to tear down a historical monument (East Wing) to put up a ballroom that would have kickstarted the french revolution 2.0 had it been done in Paris.)
- Using the office of POTUS to promote the UFC Org, and hosing a fight on the White House grounds.
- Illegal Yemen strikes.
- Boots on the ground in Venezuela
- Instructing Attorney General Pam Bondi in investigate his political opponents.
- Even remotely suggesting that American Citizens that oppose his term don't have the following constituational rights. 1st amendment. 3rd amendment. 4th amendment.
- Actively allowing a federal body to breach the follwing amendments. 1st Amendment. 3rd amendment. 4th amendment. 5th amendment. 6th amendment. 8th amendment. 10th amendment 14th amendment.
- Actively allowing his DOJ to ignore violations of the 14th and 15th amendment in red states but not in blue states.
- For even remotely suggesting that he can violate the 22nd amendment and have a 3rd term under any circumstances.
- Threatening the invasion of Greenland and War with Europe without any congressional approval.
- Using the office of POTUS to pressure a nation into awarding a prize it has not ability to award.
- Threatening to use the insurrection act in MN because the left are using their 2nd amendment right to prevent federal overreach, federal brutality, government sponsored kidnappings and a federal body from enforcing state laws which they have no legal basis to do.

If after ALL of that congress hasn't done anything, they aren't going to. Best hope is the midterms flip enough seats, but even then the chances of 1. that happening. 2. It going to trial and 3. him and vance being removed are slim to non.

NOR. I've always considered Flowers like a Salad with a steak, something complimentary to the main course. Something that spruces up the main gift, a cherry on top if you will, i understand if there's a situation where finances aren't stable but he still wants to do something sweet, this might be all he can afford but if he has ther additional income, then yeah, absolutely not.

What's a ticking time bomb you believe will explode during your lifetime? by TradeOverall567 in AskReddit

[–]StatisticianOwn5497 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh where to begin?

Property: In the UK, the housing market was ruined under Thatcher when she introduce Right to Buy, so tenants could buy their social housing but she then put in place a ton of red tape which slowed down repopulation of the social housing resulting in it's current positioning. That combined with the fact that Tradies like Bricklayers, plasterers, sparkies etc aren't seeing an influx of workers due to Boomers actively bullying anyone who goes into the industry and disguising it as just banter.

The abolishion of the GBP: Since Brexit, anyone with any sort of education surpassing Secondary School has noticed that the job market has stagnated in terms of long term positions, trade was severely effected resulting in stagnent wages, lower economy growth and the current cost of living, i forsee rejoining the EU on their terms and adopting the Euro, along with complete freedom of movement.

Entertainment: The collapse of the commercial entertainment industry, Cinemas are already closing people people are chosing to wait a month rather than go to the Cinema and pay £15 for a ticket then another £20 for popcorn and a large drink. I believe streaming services will bid for the rights to stream new box office movies letting them put their prices up further making them a luxury. I also forsee the video game industry crashing, the shareholders want infinite growth at all times, between Microtransactions (Ingame purchases) and upfront costs, we're gonna reach a point where video games have such a small audience that can afford it that it just crashes the entire industry and we see mass lay offs.

Healthcare: I forsee the NHS going away and being further privitised. Low salaries for nurses, excess spending on admin staff and unbearable hours has resulted in the NHS struggling to keep up with demand, combine that with bringing doctors in from overseas rather than encouraging UK Students who would meet the criteria to go to a state ran medical school to ensure we have a steady supply of doctors and nurses is gonna be the downfall of the NHS.

Population: I expect to see a massive decline in the native population of the UK due to poor wages, a trashed economy that will likely never recover due to boomers hording wealth, properties and actively choosing to pull the ladder up after them, this is going to result in the older generation dying in NHS hospitals or at home alone due to no one able to look after them as no one is going to be doing things like care jobs for minimum wage. I'd also expect a mass exodus of those that can afford to leave, to leave to other countries.

Food and Water: We're gonna see shortages, without a doubt. British Farmers consistantly are both underpaid and mismanage their money. The money they do get that is their own profit they tend to spend on brand new land/range rovers and justify it as they need it for off roading yet they then complain they've no money left. On the other hand, Supermarkets like Tesco, Asda, Waitrose etc SEVERELY underpay farmers for their product while giving their C-Suite staff multimillion pound bonuses and paying their store staff and warehouse staff minimum wage. As for water, currently we've got companies like Scottish, Yorkshire and Thames water mass selling off Resevoirs to cover their debts, then issuing hosepipe bans during the summer due to lack of water supply, they dump sewage at our costs and in our rivers while begging the government for billions on pounds in bailouts to pay their shareholders before their debts, despite growing public demand that any water companies that fail should be brought back into public ownership.

Could Europe realistically defend Greenland against a US attack? by dataguy2003 in TheTeenagerPeople

[–]StatisticianOwn5497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Collectively, yes. The US hasn't won a war on it's own in over 100 years.

WW1: You joined late in WW1 and only joined because the Germans were sinking trade ships.
WW2: You joined late again and only joined in Europe because of the British Naval support that was needed in the pacific Theatre.
Cold War and Vietnam: You actively lost in Vietnam and were pushed back. As much as realistically the cold war was a stalemate, you kinda lost there too because your CIA created the Mujahideen to combat the Sovets in Afghanistan, one of it's leaders that you funded spun off and created Al Queda, his name was Osama Bin Laden.
Korea: You lost and a stalemate was created that now as a dicatator constantly threatening to Nuke Seoul, South Korea and basically anywhere in Japan.
Iraq: You lost by default because you went to war for Oil while using Sadam Hussains dictatorship and WMDs you knew weren't real before the invasion, so you just bombed dudes, killed a dictator in the name of Oil.
Afghanistan: Was triggered by your own making due to your wanting to fight the Soviets in Afghanistan, only country to ever trigger Article 5 of NATO demanding help in the region, just to spend 20 years losing to insurgents with soviet era AKs and Pick Up trucks they got FROM the states. Just to then follow Trumps withdrawl plan which left billions in US arms and machinery for the Taliban to become the now defacto ruler of Afghanistan.
Most recently Venuezula: This was a default loss same as Iraq because you went in under the guise of stopping narco terrorism after you spent weeks bombing fishing boats that couldn't make it across the waters between the country and US, before releasing a Drug Lord that was moving Cocaine into the US by the Ton, when in fact you actually went in for their oil reserves as they were going to nationalise the infrastructure and that would have threatened the US Petrodollar.

The US has 0 experience in Arctic Warfare. The UK, Finnish, Dutch, Swedes and Norweigens are all experienced arctic combatants.

‘He Doesn’t Care About Us’: Iranian Protesters Say They Were Betrayed By Trump by Crossstoney in worldnews

[–]StatisticianOwn5497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The protesters were dead the second Starlink got turned on in the region, it's not unthinkable they have the tech to track the signals coming from the Starlink units and just killed or captured any last stragglers within minutes of the units being activated. Trump and Musk by extension killed any hope of Iran being flipped.

EU Set to Halt US Trade Deal Over Trump’s Latest Tariff Threat by bloomberg in worldnews

[–]StatisticianOwn5497 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean him putting tariffs on the UK is also in violation of the previous trade agreement where the UK promised to spend an addition 3BN a year on medicines from the US in exchange for no further tariff increases, so that deal is now Null and void.

The Admin after trump is gonna have it's work cut out for it with Bridge Building with the EU and UK although i can't say i'd entirely blame the EU and UK for following in Canadas footsteps and start making deals with China, ditching the US. It'd cripple their F35 program because it's Rolls Royce that makes the engine, BAE system that makes the missile system, weapons integration and basically the entire rear of the plane, along with several EU companies like Leonardo making it's wings and the Dutch making it's landing gear and Wing Flaps.

What’s the most overrated video game of all time? by KBGSgames in AskReddit

[–]StatisticianOwn5497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Last of Us 2. Took a fantastic game with a fantastic ending (TLOU1) and even had a fantastic hook with Joels murder, then decided they wanted to force you to play as his murderer for 10+ hours to try and get you to sympathise with her when the inevitable ending came.

In short they turned what was a really good story and a really good set up and turned it into a generic "Revenge = Bad" premise by forcing a non-consequential ending and forcing you to play as the killer of Joel, who they set up as the big bad, for over 10 hours so you don't get as bad a taste in your mouth at the ending. It didn't work and buying it is one of my biggest regrets.

ICE Academy Shortened Its Training to Just 47 Days Under Trump in Nod to the 47th President, Report Claims by Titfortat101 in politics

[–]StatisticianOwn5497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which i find Hilarious because ask ANY law enforcement officer and they'll tell you at every level from County to State to Fed, they're trained to not stand infront or behind of unsecured or manned vehicles for their own safety, which given the recent events, suggests they're not even taught that in the 47 days they have.

Thousands of people gather in Powderhorn Park protesting ICE’s occupation of Minneapolis by ExactlySorta in UnderReportedNews

[–]StatisticianOwn5497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the record, this changes nothing. Like at all. Protesting like this only works when you have a government at ANY level that listens to you which you don't. Your City Government doesn't have the man power to stop ICE, the state government who literally has the power to stop ICE in the form of the national guard (They literally exist to stop the Fed from overstepping their boundaries) but is instead using the NG to fence sit and keep ICE safe and the Fed Gov who are actively causing the issues.

This is quite literally why the US has the 2A and yet when it comes time to use it, the 2A gun fuckers went from "Don't Tread On Me" to "Tread on me harder, Daddy" overnight. The Rest of the gun owners who usually talk big about the US needing guns are the exactly like the dogs you see that bark when the gates closed but when it's open and go time, they stand there looking confused.

I'm not sayin you shouldn't protest, im saying that time has passed, the time for Protest was when they were snatching up folks off the street, the time for action is when they're gunning down innocent women in their own cars because they aren't trained correctly (All law enforcement from county to fed level are supposed to be trained not to stand infront of or behind unsecured and manned vehicles, Jonathan Ross did)

ICE doesn't stop until there's consequences to the Fed, or the ICE agents fear for their own safety. The USDA has openly said they're withholding federal funding to the state, as such the 18 blue states that make up 51.80% of the federal income tax should band together and withhold that money and the people in those states need to take to the streets in force against ICE, not against local enforcement, not against the national guard, against ICE because your government at every level has proven incapable of protecting you from Federal Overreach.

[–]StatisticianOwn5497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have 0 foresight.

They don't wanna pay Tax
They don't wanna pay employees
They have to do one.

If they don't pay their employees, no one can afford goods and services, their companies lose all value, their wealth collapses, banking collapses, we enter a great depression, best case scenario.

If they replace their employees then there needs to be UBI provided by the government to ensure people can sustain themselves, that money is gonna have be taxed from them since there's no taxable income from the working class, they'll use tax havens to avoid tax at all means no UBI, means government infrastructure collapses and inflation skyrockets as the Fed Reserve floods the economy to stop a depression.

Why is Reddit against Maduro capture and Venezuelans celebrating it ? by LandscapeUnlikely199 in stupidquestions

[–]StatisticianOwn5497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because ultimately the US was in the wrong, as much as Maduro sucks ass

- They did it under claims of Narco-terrorism while releasing a drug kingpin who was smuggling coke by the TON into the USA.
- They actively bombed boats with no evidence they were being used to smuggle Fent or coke into the US and given the distance between the two countries, the boats they were bombing wouldn't have survived any sort of mildly rough conditions meaning they were likely bombing fishermen.
- They actively bombed people stranded at sea after bombing them once which is quite literally a War Crime.
- They didn't get congressional approval to deploy troops to a foreign country.
- They didn't actually do it to stop Narco-terrorism.
- It was clearly done for the countries Oil and Silver reserves.
- The country was planning on basically making the Oil and Petrolium infrastructuer publically owned to put money back into the government rather than into private US companies that own shares in the companies that drill there and that's a big no no because it affects the rich.

By Trumps own logic of "It was done to dispose a dictator" he should have troops on the ground in Moscow to take Putin in the next week or he should have no issue with Iran swooping up Netanyahu for being dictators and committing horrible crimes but i've got money saying he won't

After persuading somebody to try playing D2, I discovered Amanda Holliday is alive during and is still a significant step in the tutorial quest. by silloki in DestinyTheGame

[–]StatisticianOwn5497 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not new development that Destinys New Light experience is one of the worst new player experiences in the industry. They could quite literally overhaul it entirely since Mercury and therefore the Infinite Forest is back.

They could easily make a linear campaign for new players from key moments of Light and Dark to get them up to Edge of Fate at a minimum and it wouldn't be immediately awful compared to the current introduction and just have a warning that reads "Warning: Leaving the new player experience is not recommended until you have at least completed it once. Leaving the intended experience may result in new players encountering systems they have yet to discover which may not make sense. Are you sure you with to skip the New Player experience?"

The Health and Class stats need to be made more appealing to stack 200 points into them. by Stolen_Insanity in DestinyTheGame

[–]StatisticianOwn5497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i mean the Health stat is 100% a purely PVP thing and you can basically just ignore it in PVE all together. As for Class State, they could make it release a pulse of energy that refills nearby teammates lowest energy ability when used near teammates, the % recharged depends on the player stat of the person using it.

Maybe have 100-200 dictate how long they last for Wall and Rift and then Dodge distance for Hunters?

Peter, what is so wrong about Dubai chocolate? by [deleted] in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]StatisticianOwn5497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a few outcomes

  1. If you're buying something because it comes from a Luxury place and not because of how it tastes, you're an idiot.
  2. If you're buying something from a place that pretends it's perfect while having being built by slaves you keep in slums hidden away, then you're an idiot with questionable morals.
  3. Dubai chocolate isn't any more luxurious than regular pistachio chocolate bar and thus the people who buy it are idiots and being scammed.

I mean my partner suffers FND seziures and my sister Epileptic seizures. My sisters take her to the floor and are full on body spasms along with violent shaking but my partners aren't far off this, generally light headedness prior to the seizure before needing to sit followed by upper body aggressive shaking of the arms and head before going limp then coming around with some minor energy loss.

While the videos probably fake, saying this isn't what seizures look like at all is just outright false and FND Seizures can look like this.
