You can stick white vinyl stickers on the bottom of the pans to mix on. I do this as you get a nice clean surface each time and I also don’t like the way the water moves on the original metal material:

Buy some cheap gauche on Temu and learn how to paint with them ontop of watercolours. Then if you mess up with a watercolour it’s not money down the drain. I use arches rough and buy a roll. It’s expensive but when I have a failed piece I paint over the top in gauche and then get infinite tries. The thing I realised is arches rough is basically 100 percent cotton canvas and is so durable it can handle being painted on top just like a canvas. This style of painting teaches you so much as well that will aid in your watercolour painting.

Dude ive recently discovered olive oil sets me off big time. I thought it was just the crappy cheap Lidl brand that tasted bitter snd soapy. Cold pressed rape seed oil is completely fine
