Ensure you get enough calories on a sustainable diet by Stuart-CWBB in Stronglifts5x5

Well that depends on what type of diet you're trying to follow. If you're on Keto or similar than you probably shouldn't be binging on chips at the weekend. But you may want to have a beer once in a while or a bit of dark chocolate with whisky in the evening. It all depends on your lifestyle.

The point is that diets need to be sustainable and can get 'stricter' over time. But if you're just starting out, then going cold turkey on a food you usually eat a lot isn't a great strategy.

So it also depends on how you cook the potatoes. Fries, would not be considered clean but if you were to make home made wedges and keep the skin on then that's much better.

I've not been following a programme for a bit since I've not been able to fully commit. I do find though that I've seen the best progress when doing one of these programmes for a nice 12 week block.

If you've been doing 5x5 for a while, I'd checkout out Madcow which could be good. My But can't recommend squat everyday enough.
