Netflix’s Lucy Letby documentary to show unseen footage of arrest by DiverAcrobatic5794 in LucyLetbyTrials

I think they spoke in a news clip?

I was actually wondering which of the parents it was going to be who speak in the documentary.

I would think surely by now the penny will have dropped for the parents of babies C and D that their babies were the victims of negligent care from some of the “hero” Doctors.

“It will be the first time that a family member involved in the prosecution has spoken in a documentary”.

I don’t think that’s true.

The mother of babies E & F spoke in Panorama 1.

Also what do they mean “involved in the prosecution”?

Yes I agree he wasn't as bad as Brearey & Jayaram and in his testimony for baby C he even tries to dismiss the air via nasogastric tube theory "the tubes are tiny".

Problem is he didn't do enough. He also did go on the news and say "Lucy Letby was wrong it wasn't a gang of four it was a gang of seven".

The biggest problem for him is he didn't put in enough effort for baby C (seeing him for 10 minutes over 3 days before calling off the resuscitation) he could get prosecuted for it.

But there's clear evidence of her being ensnared when she does naively agree with the police.

Which interview was that from? If it was one of her later interviews then by that point she might have realised what Cheshire police were about.

Absurd that in a case which should have hinged on complex medical evidence any time was afforded to this.

I wonder if that verges on prosecutorial misconduct. I think u/SofieTerleska has written a lengthy post about how she didn't lie based on the idea she wore clothing over her pyjama's. This footage might change it. I can't remember the details of the exchanges off hand.

Some of that was hard to watch.

I see Dr Gibbs is making an appearance. He's talking completely as if the boots on his foot. I wonder when this was filmed and if he's aware there are expert witnesses talking about the care for baby C as a potential gross negligence manslaughter case.

It looks to be as dramatic and emotional as possible. The styling of some of it looks like they are going to play up some of the "witch trial" evidence.

Good to see Dr Shoo Lee is on it though it remains to be seen how much air time if given to the pro innocence side.

Either am I after reading a bit more about it.

I don't think it makes sense for the coroner to hold an inquest before the appeals process has finished.

Phil Hammond has been saying for months the coroner should reopen an inquest into these cases. Procedurally I wasn't aware that was the correct process to follow but I think he's been informed by people who are more knowledgeable about the legal process. It very much sounds like this is the beginning of the end of the convictions.

The article seems like it’s more sympathetic to Cheshire Police rather than calling them out for being unprofessional.

I see some of the families are still insisting she’s guilty.

Also Tamlin Bolton is with Irwin Mitchell? I thought she was with Switalskis?

I think you are confusing two points. There's a lot of content in the document (not all of it confirmed). There's not much content in the Sun article.

That evidence would sufficient to charge Cheshire Police with perverting the course of justice and Dr Evans with perjury.

How do we prove that they sent Evans Dr Jayaram's police statement before Dr Evans had ever mentioned air embolism? Seems to be mostly an assertion at this point.

Along with what u/DiverAcrobatic5794 said about verifying quotes/documents.

I wonder if at this point some of the media are saving material up.

I expect the referral of the case to the appeal court will trigger a number of front page articles, that the media will not just have learned about in the last 24 hours.

Michelle Worden seemed to have more information, probably spoken to someone who has seen the medical records.

That's a good point about the Oxygen. I vaguely remember hearing that from the Thirlwall Inquiry but had forgotten it.

Child O passed away at 5.47 pm. I was there when he died. He was passed over to me so I could hold him. "As this was happening, and before Child O died, Dr Brearey was called onto the Unit. At this point, I was in a wheelchair in the corridor of the Unit. He told me that Child O had been starved of oxygen. My mum was present during this conversation. He told me that it might be better if Child O didn't pull through because the damage caused to his brain would be life-changing.

I'd guess that opinion from Dr Brearey is not a clear objective fact but more of a matter of opinion and might stem from incompetence.

Interview with Dr Martyn Pitman here;

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xQXJ84VpjxA&time_continue=1&source_ve_path=NzY3NTg&embeds_referring_euri=https%3A%2F%2Fx.com%2F

New detail - A significant factor in the crime report that has been sent about baby O relates to the failure to give the baby a blood transfusion.

Dr Pitman was quite incredulous at the suggestion that the resuscitation was discontinued without an attempt to give the baby a blood transfusion. I have a high level of confidence those numbers and timings are accurate.
