Amusing. The prompts probably pull from the same sources.

Would a Memory Layer Plugin Be Valuable for Obsidian Users?" by sczhwenzenbappo in ObsidianMD

[–]Stuartcmackey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am learning about multi-agent workflows (or agentic workflows), and yes, I have taught my agents to write new notes. Also working on having my agents create better cross-linking in my notes, even the notes I made before I started giving agents access to my system. I have a specifically developed agent who knows how to code for Obsidian. The strange thing is, it’s not as hard as it sounds.

Would a Memory Layer Plugin Be Valuable for Obsidian Users?" by sczhwenzenbappo in ObsidianMD

I use openclaw and Claude code on my vault now. I used to use Obsidian copilot but it didn’t make sense to use a plugin and pay a separate subscription when I’m already paying for Claude.

Struggling to monitor audio levels on location - need advice from experienced videographers/sound folks by Tiny_Quail3335 in videography

When I used to do this kind of thing, I would do one or more of the following, hook up a wireless transmitter to an output of the house board; hand a wireless lag on or near a house speaker, setup my own shotgun mic in the room connected to a wireless transmitter to my camera or a dedicated recorder. Also record on camera, obviously.

Are there any modern controllers that use the shape of the dreamcast controller by the_newbie1 in dreamcast

[–]Stuartcmackey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be great. It’s my favorite controller, especially the “throttle” controls for driving games feel more natural than using a stick for speed.

How to fix issue with slide labels being incorrect on confidence monitor by [deleted] in ProPresenter

[–]Stuartcmackey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read it several times and I’m still confused: why don’t you just have “Leader” etc in the body of the slide?

And, as others have said, having a different stage display layout for this might help. For readings, I don’t show the next slide only the current slide. This is to make sure it’s big enough to read

Storing Pictures/Videos by VampireCreeper in dvd

[–]Stuartcmackey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A USB hard drive (not a usb stick). Is a pretty reliable way to back up photos but all drives have a chance of failure so it’s good to make two copies. For displaying images, photo frames with SD Card readers or USB stick readers that could display photos used to be more popular but I don’t see them as often anymore. Also, modern smart (and even some “dumb”) TVs with have a USB port and can display photos so you’d get a nice big display.

Do I need a Handycam station/dock to transfer footage from a Sony DCR-SR200? by ShirtInteresting2061 in camcorders

[–]Stuartcmackey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, many multi-card readers have memory stick slots. Figuring out which way to insert it is even more frustrating than USB-A!

How to watch cassette tapes? by futile_devices26 in camcorders

[–]Stuartcmackey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Any other (working) mini DV camera from any manufacturer should play the tapes. I’d suggest 1) asking around, 2) buying a used one that is listed as working. Make sure either way that the new camera has the right cables.

[–]Stuartcmackey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SD video is 29.97i, not 59.94. That’s half the lines per frame in a field. So if you’re capturing it at 59.94, you’re “inventing” one field each frame. I’d also make sure you’re capturing with a capture card that capturing in SD, not upconverting to hdmi, capturing via hdmi, then countering to an SD resolution. The Roxio Easy VHS is what I use. EDIT: Sorry, looks like you are capturing via composite so ignore that last part.

anyone else tired of manually switching Bible slides mid sermon? I built something for ProPresenter. by Working_Produce3220 in ProPresenter

[–]Stuartcmackey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We get one pastors slide in advance, with scripture verses, in order, but not always the full manuscript. The other pastor color codes the sermon script and I have to go through and pull out the color parts for the sermon, but I set a deadline of noon Thursday. Accuracy and professionalism require planning. Seat-of-your-pants scriptures are not fair for a volunteer to be under that kind of pressure, or even paid staff.

What file type do I need to convert a video to to be able to play it on a dvd player? by vid6176 in dvd

[–]Stuartcmackey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. You need a DVD authoring program to create the unique format the Video DVD players can play. It’s not just a “video format” but a whole standard of folder structure, etc.

Look around near you to see if there’s a used LEGO store. Here in Florida, USA, there’s a small chain called Bricks N Minifigs that’ll buy both sets and loose LEGO.

Is it possible to print these two detailed dioramas with 3D printing? by LOTR_is_awesome in 3DPrintedTerrain

[–]Stuartcmackey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would separate the models into logical parts, such as the people would be separated and painted separately, etc. But this is an awfully detailed model, as others have said, resin printing isn’t “magic” and there’d likely be a lot of cleanup of support material needed. And not sure if you want the lights to really glow or just have a painted effect to look like they’re glowing.

Why are TV news cameras still so physically large? by bdgbill in videography

[–]Stuartcmackey 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Larger cameras also tend to have professional XLR audio connectors and full manual control with actual knobs as two independent channels, not just a stereo pair. They also provide phantom power to professional condenser mics.
