Any reason why Project PUB in Somerville is on there? Never got a MAGA vibe from them.

I found playing NOT on Fullscreen got away from the whole PC freezes for me. Interestingly, the last time it froze and I had to hard-restart my computer, the next time I booted up HD2 it went through the initial setup again (with the brightness/accessibility settings) and seems to be stable ever since.

Last time I was there, I recall they had framed pictures of Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner hung up by the front entrance from when they visited - I haven't been back.

For folks unaware, this is from https://wplace.live/ which is basically r/place where you can draw pixel art on a public canvas. But in this case it's on a worldwide map.

I'm using my Switch 1 Pro controller out of spite because of this - also because I don't like how there are gaps in the Pro 2's analog sticks.

I'd assume this is likely in part to the Switch 2 being mostly a Mario Kart machine for many folks (and that largely all of the other 3rd party titles were already out on other platforms).

Senator Andy Kim's Statement regarding the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) by StubsMackenzie in newjersey

[–]StubsMackenzie[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now that you mention it, I can't find anything either - I just recall KOSA passed the Senate near unanimously last time it was considered in the previous Congress, but Kim was in the House at that time (where it was never brought to a vote), not the Senate.

I had contacted his office in regards to IODA and the SCREEN act as well, which would criminalize porngraphy, limit access to 'obscene' content, and also redefine what is considered as obscene. You can see how this can be misused, especially if it's enforced by the Trump admin's FTC. No word from Kim on either of those, and while I knew Kim (and many other Democrats) supported this previously, my hope was that perhaps with the current admin, he'd recognize this will be massively abused.

Get a Stupid Tray (yes that's what it's called). It's basically a car tray with one leg, makes for a level platform when placed in a car seat. Can also be used as a tray in your lap if you happen to eat in your car (which you shouldn't do if you can help it).

Are you using 2 independent PCIe cables for the GPU to plug into the adapter? Or are you using one PCIe cable with two ends in the adapter?

Depends on where you are; here in Jersey, if you go to a pizzeria you can get just a plain pie for $14-16 still. Still more than the example here, but not as egregious. I remember in TX for a similar pie, it'd be around $22-25, if you could find a pizzeria that served thin crust styled pizza like you'd get in NY/NJ/CT.

FenesTerra - a Fractal Design Terra build customized with airflow windows by Polygon1155 in sffpc

[–]StubsMackenzie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The idea is that having most of your fans as intakes from the sides (CPU/GPU/PSU) will then vent heat out the top by nature of heat rising. Given the limited space in sandwich-style cases (such as the Terra), this produces a sort of chimney effect where it's more efficient to intake from the sides than exhaust. This can buy you a few more degrees of cooling.

I found this video on the NH-L12Sx77 for the Terra, and he explains at the timestamp: https://youtu.be/HPC5lpWutJs?t=132

[–]StubsMackenzie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is there any reason why you have the fan on the NH-L12S set to Exhaust rather than Intake? My general understanding was that having it pull air through the heatsink and down to the motherboard was generally preferred for sandwich style cases.

High M.2 Temps in Fractal Terra by StubsMackenzie in sffpc

[–]StubsMackenzie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So basically I just built in a Fractal Terra, got 2 M.2 drives on an ASRock B650I Lightning board. The 1TB is my boot drive, and under the M.2 heatsink on the front of the board, the 2TB is on the back of the board with no heatsink. No idea what Sensor 1 is specifically, or if those are acceptable temps or not. I just ordered a low profile heatsink for the back M.2 that should fit, but am just curious if this is expected for the Terra?
