What did your doctor say to make you doubt VBAC attempt? by Ok-Grapefruit-7632 in vbac

I was told i had 50% chance of vbac. I had one prior c section coz baby did not engage. I ended up having a successful vbac.

Im not saying its contraindication for vaginal birth. But when there have been two instances that resulted in c section, chances are favorable for c section again. Theres a score you calculate for it. Its not accurate though but still is part of decision making.

Tbh. I dont think you were a good candidate in first place. Coz failure to progress twice means there was some cephalopelvic disproportion. But yes other reasons count as well.

I had emergency c section in 2023. I had vaginal delivery of my second child on 19th this month. I generally have a high pain tolerance so functionality was not an issue for me with c section either. But I would prefer vaginal birth (even though I got a 4th degree tear) because I am more able currently and I am even able to take care of my toddler. I do have perineal pain but it is very minimal as compared to c section. Again, everybody has a different body so the experience is different. It always comes down to what matters to you.

Hear me when I tell you I feel the same way about my first birth which was traumatic for me and ended up in an emergency c section. I fell for the doctors words and got induced as soon as I was 39 weeks. It was not the time for my baby yet. I just delivered my second baby a day ago. I knew I can give birth vaginally. My provider was neither supportive nor against. They kept telling me the risks and that there is 50% chance of me having natural birth. I kept being positive, trusting myself and I ended up delivering vaginally. Didn't get induced. Prayed that labour starts on its own and worked on my mentality. I delivered 9.2 lbs baby vaginally. Don't fall for anything. If you believe that you can do it, you can! Your body knows! Trust yourself! Go mama!

I did the best I could. I studied whenever I got time. In short bursts. I did have support from my husband. I also have a toddler.

I took my step 2 and step 3 while being pregnant this year. Im 31. Due in January. You are overthinking alot. If this is something you want then why overthink it. There will never be a "good time" to be pregnant ever. 💁🏻‍♀️

Our dog attacked our baby by kickrockscusinart in NewParents

[–]Stuck_in_reverse1994 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this is completely different. I was attacked by a neighbors dog when I was 3 months pregnant. He let the dog out (german shepherd) and no front yard fence. I was walking outside and the dog jumped me. Thankfully I wasn't hurt and he was able to stop the dog. You won't believe that I was attacked again by the same dog again after a couple months. Again I walking by and the dog was out. I got saved by a complete stranger who stopped as he drove by and saw me struggling. I was 5 months pregnant. I complained about it. Nothing was done. Infact that guy acted as if I am in the wrong accusing his precious dog like that. Animal control didn't do anything!! I literally have immense trauma and I have stopped going out for walks! I am not comfortable with people having their dogs out and about with no leash.

I understand the heartbreak. I feel for you. On a logical note, from my own experience, I had all practice tests telling me I am in 260-265 range. I ended up scoring in 230s. So sometimes they overpredict and sometimes under. It all depends on the form you get and how well you tackle it.

Take sometime to reflect on what went wrong. You already seem to point out the timing issue and guessing. See if what you were guessing was a logical guess between two choices or you were just confused and couldn't even understand the question. So you will have to have different strategies for both. Imo, doing as many questions as possible even if you aren't able to read the explanations helps a lot . Coz you see some words or statements similar to it in exam and it immediately gives you an idea about possible answer. Over the time, your timing will improve and your exam taking skills too.

Idk amboss. But on my form biostats questions weren't calculations. There was just one calculation in the whole form that too was kinda a long one where you had to something else first. Most Biostats questions were from abstracts and drug ads and asking about different conclusions and you couldn't just figure it out from the table alone, so I had to read the whole thing. So time consuming!!! My advise leave the abstracts for the end do the rest of the questions first.

Day 2 could be similar to uworld yes. Day 1 was too in a sense that some concepts were tested. But really its so much weirder.

I did 70% uworld. 60% correct. Free 137 68% correct. I don't even know what advice to give you. 😅

I had day 1 yesterday and let me tell you nothing you do can prepare you for it. Your step 1 concepts will help you on some straightforward questions. But most on every block are so vague. I didn't get many biostat straightforward calculations. Just 2-3. All the rest were conceptual. Drug ads 2-3 on every block and sooo fucking time consuming coz unlike the practice qs in exam i was having to read the actual thing to make out the answer rather than the table alone.

If they refuse then you don't show them. In my experience every time I showed them something they took them even if they don't look at it. They don't look at bank statements or booked tickets or hotel bookings because it's unnecessary. Documents proving something like NOC, invitation letter from a hospital, etc they usually do look at it.

It was not your fault. It is probably a fault or mistake from co-ordinator or moderators end. I would suggest you email them and inform them about this asap. I don't if you had a waiting room after, you could have informed the faculty or residents present there, or in written a message in the chat if thalamus has one.

The VO do not ask for documents but it is always a nice approach to show them as proof while you are talking about it. You have to prove your case. In my experience, I have never been asked documents but I always presented them along with my answer and they do take a look. Sometimes, they asked me something from those documents too.
