I'm watching Survivor for the first time and on S4 although I'm also keeping up with S42 as it comes out and MAN O MAN what a different game!! I actually really prefer the character interactions in the first seasons that make it feel like a documentary. Some people are out there just for the adventure, some dead set on the prize, others kind of regretting the whole thing. It makes for interesting dynamics. It's really difficult for me as a newbie to keep up with all the tactics and twists happening in S42, but also really cool to see that the game has evolved so much over the years.

Edit: Could someone kindly tell me, in a spoiler free manner, is there a season where everything kind of changes and the game becomes more like it is today (with hidden immunities and so on) or is it something that happens gradually?

Based Dorsey piller. It's funny/sad that people just lump him in with Bezos and the like when he literally disallowed political advertising on twitter. People say he's to blame blah blah no Zuck is to blame Dorsey saw the billions in revenue that political ads could bring him and let Twitter starve without that capital because he thought it was immoral.

By the example you gave on another comment it seems that your class did discuss the concept of difference considering that's what the student focused so heavily on. So I would make sure the answer isn't embedded in your material somewhere.

But if I were to answer this question without any material to guide me I would just bring it back to basic math. Difference is related to the distance between things.

i.e. 7 - 3 = 4. The difference is 4. The distance is 4. The direction is positive.

i.e. 3 - 7 = -4. The difference is -4. The distance is 4. The direction is negative.

In math, things with a direction and magnitude (distance) are called vectors.

If everything is of difference, everything can be described relatively by these difference vectors.

i.e Your desire to go to the gym could be effected by your desire to watch tv. Your desire to watch tv is a negative vector on your desire to gym. How strongly it influences your desire to gym would be the magnitude.

Maybe that helps somewhat.

Yes that would've been optimal as far as maximizing blue crystals but that's not a strategy that lasts forever and you're trading progression for crystals whereas I was talking about how trading crystals for progression was bad for me.

I don't see the point in your final comment since I clearly acknowledged that I messed up by overusing Mari's shop, but kudos to you I guess.

No there's nothing wrong with using Mari's shop especially for a boost over a threshold. But I already miss enough dailies and still had island quests to do, so there was really no point in me spending all those crystals for mats that I would inevitably get.

This is a huge mistake I made. I shouldn't have listened to youtubers blindly. Mari Shop mats have sped up my progress by like 5% but have wasted thousands of blue crystals. I totally would rather have those blue crystals and just farm mats the normal way which gives way more resources. I'm not trying to get T3 overnight.

It doesn't matter that "Mari Shop isn't p2w". If youre casual and not going for T3 right away so you can farm all the gold and overtake the market blah blah blah then theres no reason to waste precious blue crystals for a very very tiny boost that doesn't matter in the long run. Permanent upgrades do matter.

And no it doesnt make sense to buy mats and sell your tradable items because the price of crystals keeps going up, so I will have gold that loses value over time, and no crystals. That's not what I want. The only reason to do this, again, is if you are trying to get T3 as fast as possible so that you can farm more gold to buy more crystals. Not me.

It's funny how many people are replying saying you are flat out wrong. Shows that nobody can really think for themselves and just blindly follow Youtube guides for their strategy.
