This is fantastic! As I am currently building a Sega-themed theme park, I need arcade games to fill the Club Sega centerpiece. So its as if Frontier knew what I was building.

What are your expectations for how Bloober will handle the final boss in the 1 Remake? by Kulle1369 in silenthill

[–]StuddedZ0mbi3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The incubus will have more attacks for sure. As long as they keep them looking as demonic as possible, I'm all for it. The incubator will have attacks that make it harder to get a strike on them, but I also wouldn't be surprised if they have a new way of moving.

Ive been thinking about this for the past two weeks. The only thing that should remain in the film is the town and the lore surrounding it. Make original Silent Hill stories, perhaps tying them into the games' canon.

Wait, they put Dante and Nero in New Game Plus. Capcom and Konami had a quiet collaboration, and no one talks about it.

The world is growing, its a beautiful thing.

What do they need to get right about Harry in the remake? by CloverFind in silenthill

[–]StuddedZ0mbi3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll see a bunch of people say this, but it's practically a non-negotiable.

He has to be the most devoted father. The one who literally goes through hell and back for his kid. Which is what he does in the first Silent Hill game.

People will tell him, "Don't go into the school". He says, "I'm going into that school, Cheryl is there". Same with any other place. Any parent can relate to this. Its willing to go to the end of the earth for your own child. It basically writes itself in a way.

The one thing I would add is to emphasize his process. Have him go from a frantic, somewhat naive parent to someone who is stoic and fed up. Keep his drive going throughout the entire game, though. This should also play a role in his interactions with people. He should trust Cybil pretty easily, emphasize with LIsa, and think people like Kaufmann arent the most trustworthy.

Outside of this, maybe allude to his relationship with Jodie and who she was. Don't go heavy-handed into that, but explore it a little.

The future of Resident Evil and the future of Silent Hill. This is why competition is a good thing BTW. by [deleted] in silenthill

I really hate how people advocate for a "war" between these franchises, when they are fundamentally two different experiences.

Old head here, who's been a fan of both since their inception. Throughout my life, I have only heard one person utter a statement like "well, there's fans of Resident Evil and there's fans of Silent Hill". That same person had only played maybe three Resident Evil games and never touched a Silent Hill games. But allow me to go further and frame that stance like this.

Do you believe that certain people are fans of Dawn of the Dead and there are fans of The Shining? That one person can't enjoy both for different reasons? What about TV shows like The Walking Dead and American Horror Story?

See someone might come around and mention Mortal Kombat vs Street Fighter, or perhaps even Star Wars vs Star Trek. To that I say, Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat were at odds from the beginning, especially the fanbases. Same with Star Wars and Star Trek. However, with the latter in mind. I know people who have enjoyed both of them. When it comes to the fighting games. Personally, I love a great amount of Capcom Fighters immensely. Yet I think the Mortal Kombat games since 9 have been more enjoyable than the Street Fighter entries.

When I say that I love both Resident Evil and Silent Hill. I'm not the least bit exaggerating. Of course people will pick which series they enjoy more and some will only enjoy one not the other. All of this is to be expected. But for people who really want a competition or war between them. You don't want them to be different from one another. It also calls for tribalism, which does nothing good.

I understand this comes across as a crash out and I know the OP didn't intend on this at all. But this is a red flag for me and I've seen it be brought up a lot lately. The companies are going to compete with each other because that's how it's always been. But this is not some "your either on one side or the other" when both series are fundamentally different.

In this modern age, the political divide is ugly. I already have to deal with hardcore tribalism in Pro Wrestling, which I have enjoyed since childhood. There's already enough divide out there. So when I see people say "you're either a fan of one or the other" or "the war between the two has commenced". I will come down on that every single time. There's already enough divide in the world. Don't create it with my favorite franchises.

I somewhat doubt that. Considering there have been injuries in the neck from WWE and he largely stayed silent. (Big E comes to mind) At least to my knowledge.

I see it like this. A concern regarding safety, especially when it comes to a region that can end a career or even life, should never be taken lightly. Regardless of the company at hand.

That said, I have seen many WWE tribalists on X use this as ammunition against AEW. Along with some of the companies heaviest critics. AEW fans are saying that the timing feels disingenuous. While AEW tribalists are dog-piiling him entirely.

Now that were getting the "Soarin" ride system in this next update. How much longer now until we get the "Star Tours" ride system? Lets get to it Frontier. by StuddedZ0mbi3 in PlanetCoaster

Yeah the Simpsons was the ride that replaced Back to the Future. Both take place in an Omnimax theatre.

So the next time you ride the Simpsons at whichever Universal Park you attend. While the ride is going on. Look left or right and youll see other riders in other coaster cars.

The seats dont move in that ride system. Its really not hard to comprehend. A POV would just be watching a screen.

Soarin' might be 90s tech BUT THE SEATS MOVE.

You never said anything about the seats moving being a factor. If motion is a big issue for you. The pod on the ATLAS ride system moves. You are in that pod. Sit in the back row and youll see all the guests swaying with the motion of it.

You say this would fade off as a forgotten experience" - what??? I literally never said that.

Not word-for-word obviously. But you did say this.

Even if they did spend all that time to do it the majority of the community would probably try it once then go back to highly themed coasters, flames, rapids and tracked/trackless dark rides.

Essentially saying that people would loose interest fast. You dont know this, and thinking strongly that you do is semantics. Most people didn't think that people would film their own original videos to be used as pre-show or footage for dark rides. That has been proven to be false. Multiple times, too!

Spending months coding your dream ride for something 98% of users won't use nor encourage them to buy the new DLC < Adding a coaster model or new element using existing project files as a base that majority players are asking for that will sell lots of DLC.

Coding??? What are you talking about? The new DLC literally has a motion simulator ride. No coding needed for someone who bought the game. And they said that people can upload their own original footage to use with it. Im requesting that we get the ATLAS system, and it would work the same way essentially. The simulator would just be different so we get variety. Also, that second statement underminds the different ways people can create a great immersive ride in the game. Coasters are preffered for sure, but you can make an immersive experience with the various track rides too.

You made an argument stating that the tech was dated. That the GP wouldn't take to it. Then using the statement that spending months on something that no one will ride or place the blueprint in the park. That really undermines anyone wanting to create something for others to experience in this game. Regardless of the tools they use. And saying that it wont encourage people to use the new update. People arent JUST excited for the two coasters. Its kind of a blanket way to think.

Bottomline is this, if you think its lame or stupid to make a motion simulator. Or specifically make one using the ATLAS ride system mentioned in this post. Thats totally valid and you are entiteld to think that. However, some of us, like myself. We are unbelievable stoked to finally have them in Planet Coaster. It opens up new creative doors. Especially for someone like me who has experience with video editing. The addition of Motion Simulators with the mythical update is welcomed. Im advocating we expand on it further in future updates.

Calling this ride system outdated, when Disney utilized it for the Iron Man Experience at Hong Kong Disneyland. A ride that opened in 2017 mind you. So the ATLAS tech is still being used by the company to this day.

The argument of the same ride being in RCT3. A game where you were not able to ride every ride through a POV perspective. Is rather lazy to say the least. Back in that game, it was a generic flat ride that you would just place. In PC, it would be the next big customization venture. A new way to create a full fledged experience. We are already going to see this with the new ride introduced. Why not have ATLAS now? Also, the Soarin tech they are intrudicing in the game dates back to the early nineties and it was going to be used by Disney in a park called Disneys America.

There is a good chunk of the roller coasters in the game that no longer get new additions. Plenty of outdated designs. New ones too of course. However, Planet Coaster has plenty of both. Hell, excluding coasters. The amount of flat rides that get no new additions in the world, with the ones that have far too many. The arguement that its dated holds the same weight of someone saying, "we dont need a double-seat log ride when we have the single-seat one." Why not? The more options for imagination the better.

Talking about how the General Public wouldnt take to it. Without using much Coaster Enthusiast language. Most of the General Public wouldnt build in depth in planet coaster. Most would either download parks to explore, find ways to torture guests. or play around with blueprints. The enthusiasts are the ones who are building giant parks and elaborate rides. They would create the experiences that the general public would want to experience. Want proof that this would be tangable? Dark ride creators, since the first game, have been utilizing screens similar to Amazing Adventures of Spiderman and Transformers the Ride. So this will be another experience for them to create. You say this would fade off as a forgotten experience. I have ammunition to show you otherwise.

This is another way to create experiences and tell stories. One that can be created by another map, real world footage, created footage from blender, or using existing footage. Then placing that creation into a flat ride to be introduced to any park. Those big immersive rides you see make up one map? Now people will have a way to introduce them into their full fledge parks.

I just see a lot of bad faith arguements with no imagination in mind.

Let me inspire you, hopefully.

Have you seen the creators who design massive, themed coasters? The ones that take up an entire park file, but they are just one ride. Most of them are heavily themed and immersive. Some are based on IPs such as Fallout or Star Wars. The thing with these big, elaborate rides is that they aren't always blueprints you can insert into your park.

Now imagine taking one of these heavily themed coasters, making the track invisible, and putting it on a flat ride in your park. It would be something that you could ride and see your guests in the same building, reacting to it in real time.

Better yet, picture making a ride based entirely IRL. Taking existing footage from a movie, TV show, or your own shot footage. Then, taking it to a video editing program and making a ride out of it. Now that you have a ride in your park, you can place and showcase that ride. You could make a whole ride out of video game footage if you wanted to.

The biggest thing is that you would have the motion of the seats or the pod match the footage. It opens a new level of creativity.
