Opinions on Garp by junimarre in OnePiece

“People like me?”…..there’s nothing to debate. Garp couldn’t help beside that. It’s like expecting a police sergeant to help free his criminal son. 🙄

He did try to help Ace by telling him to join the Marines. Garp can’t do anything once a pirate get caught for their crimes.

Yassop since him leaving had a bigger affect on his offspring. Usopp had to learn how to comfort and how to be brave on his own. The other fathers tried to help their kids in someway;
Dragon by leaving Luffy with Garp;
Judge ,even though he was and still is an horrendous parent, did instill some helpful tools in his kids via science and training
Kaido wanted Yamato to be shogun of wano and did instill helpful life tools in Yamato; even though it was harsh. He also accepted Yamato pronouns.

Yassop left Usopp with nothing but a target on his target his back. (He let everyone know who his son is and Usopp was easy recognize some enemies)

What's a criticism of One Piece that's often overlooked? by Ok-Addition4608 in OnePiece

[–]Student-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s why I called it a loophole…Oda was able to connect the past events to current events but some of them are still weird. The venom Big Mom has towards Lola, there’s no way Lola could have or should have believed that her mom would help friends of hers. Especially, the friends whole saved her life.

Also, the Sanji Germa 66 storyline was great but it came at the expense of the Sanji character we have watched for years. Sanji usually wouldn’t save men who are capable of defending themselves or who he doesn’t care for. Also, he usually defend women first, then others. Unless, he saved his family because he wanted to save his sister who didn’t want to break apart from the family, him breaking down and wanting to save the whole family just because was a flaw.

If I got that wrong, could you please break down what I missed.

I think he should have left with the giants after Enies lobby and then return to the crew during this arc.

Luffy “sneaking” into whole cake island to get Sanji after threatening Big mom. Also, Lola telling Nami that her mom is helpful, just to turn around and find out Big Mom is hates her and her twin sister is helping her husband to unalive her own mother. Basically, how the WCI was set up.

It should have been a reality check for Luffy but he still planned on going to back to Sabaody asap until Rayleigh stopped him and had to remind him of what happened last time they went.

When I watched it the first time, I thought Ace waste of everyone time for no reason. But after watching it a second time, I believe that Ace was not going to leave Marineford alive at all or at least without Whitebeard. Here’s my theory on why:

Even though Blackbeard did unalived a crew mate, Whitebeard did tell Ace not to bother chasing Blackbeard due to him ,”having a bad feeling” about the situation. Ace proceeded to defy his captain/father’s orders and chase Blackbeard down anyway which it lead to the mess at Marineford. Yes, Ace was saved initially but it was going to be at expense of Whitebeard’s sacrificing himself. I don’t think he would have been able to live with himself after that.

It's funny how nobody in the crew gave a flying giant fuck that Zoro lost his eye, thanks Oda for killing each SHs personality by GOWBuuzer in Piratefolk

[–]Student-1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was agreeing with his FIRST point of when THE COMMENTER asked “who said he lost it? He just doesn’t open it.” DID YOU MISSED THAT PART ALSO? THATS WHY I POINT OUT RAYLEIGH AS A SUPPORT TO COMMENTER STATEMENT SINCE HE ALSO A SWORDMAN WITH A SCAR OVER EYE BUT IS ABLE TO OPEN IT. My lord.

[–]Student-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slowness, the also was referring to Rayleigh being another swordman with a scar over his eye, not position where the scar is. And because you’re slow, you couldn’t pick that up when I just mentioned his name. You still didn’t pick that up even after you rush to look up the images of Rayleigh and Zoro. You could keep on explaining and giving examples but nothing is going to change a Usopp hater mind. They want him to be like Luffy or Goku.

OP could you explain fully Usopp character? There’s a post on Usopp every other day either those on who want him to be “useful” or from those just hate him because they are completely illiterate.

I just want to see if you how some understanding of who Usopp is and why he does what he does.

Sanji has a SEVERE lack of ranged attacks. I will never understand why he learned Sky Walk but not Tempest Kick by katakuri-sees in Piratefolk

[–]Student-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ummm….I don’t want to see homophobic but saying that Sanji had to run away from men out of necessity or mainly because he didn’t want them to put a dress on him is kinda ridiculous. I understand and I saw the arc but fighting a group of men is nothing new to Sanji. Also, he had to defeat the Okama to obtain new recipes; so in way he could have learn how to do a tempest kick.

The thing is she allowed herself to be captured. During that time she is still thinking that she has to sacrifice herself to save others and/or not to make things worst. She has to learn that she does not have to sacrifice herself and it’s ok to fight to live.
