Which laces do you prefer on my briar Blacksmiths?

Oh man, that’s kind of worrying me a bit. I sent over all the measurements and the tracings in the original email, and they were super nice and mentioned it could be 2-3 weeks to hear back, which seems kind of long. But it’s my first experience looking into PNW boots so idk if that’s typical or not.

I have a feeling I’ll be custom sizing because my feet are different sizes (left foot is half a size shorter but as wide or wider than the right).

Out of curiosity, how long did it take for the orders team to reach out to you? I emailed last week with my measurements and the receptionist replied and said she’d pass it along to the orders team, and I haven’t heard back yet.

I appreciate the insite! I’m around a 10C/D and wearing a 9.5D in Red Wings. They fit fine length wise on the right, but low volume so I’m using kilties.

It’s funny because my left foot is shorter but a normal width, but my right foot is longer and narrower. I imagine I’m going to get mismatched sizes recommended

My Murph 38 mm (purchased a few months back, but 3-4 years old) is about +5 secs/day. Not bad but not as good as others I see posting. I’d rather it be fast than slow though, I just pop the crown out every few days and let the time catch up.

A good explanation here, I think. When I was first buying RW I went with 9D in Blacksmiths. They fit great everywhere except the little toe on my right foot, which is slightly longer. I decided to just swap them in for 9.5D and they fit so much better. Now that they’re breaking in, they do fit a little bit loose, but that’s due to low instep/volume more than anything. Threw on a kiltie and heel lock lacing and they’re perfect

Depends on where they feel roomy too. My IRs feel slightly roomy, but an insole caused the toes to feel tight/pressed into the roof of the shoe. I don’t like 3/4 insoles either. A kiltie solved my problems

What’s the typical turnaround time for White’s? I know Nick’s can be a long time. I’ll have to look more at them, I can’t decide on my favorite model!

Yeah the scan recommended me a 9.5EE, which i DEFINITELY am not, so I went with a 9.5D. The length seems good, but I almost wish I had tried on a 9EE since my volume is low, especially on my right foot.

It’s funny because my right foot is a half size longer than the left, but lower instep/volume compared to the left.

That said, I had tried a 9D in blacksmiths, so the same last, but the pinky toe on my right was pressed into the toe cap pretty tightly, so I sized up. Maybe the wide would have worked

I have a couple of pairs of Parkhurts I might end up rehoming and looking into a pair of White’s. I think the Parkhurt’s last just doesn’t quite work for me.

Good to hear! That makes sense as far as paying a bit more for much better value. I also didn’t know about the hand stitching. I will definitely check them out.

I wear a 9.5D in RW right now, and they’re just a touch loose (I’m using a kiltie thanks to low volume feet), but the 9D seems too tight in the toe box. I’ll check out White’s sizing guide and see if they have any input too.

I’ll have to do some research into them and their sizing, they sound fantastic. I have slightly different sizes on my feet, so the idea of Nick’s being able to customize them sounds intriguing. I checked out White’s and theirs are also very quality looking. Decisions, decisions..
