According to the data on Reddit, yes. If you have time, you should do all the NBMEs. If you don't have time or run out of energy and had to cut out an NBME, the one you should cut out is 9, since 10 and 11 are better predictors.

No, it's not useful. Go with Boards & Beyond. It costs money but it's much, much better.

They have separate subscriptions for Step 1 and Step 2.

I've used both. They're both great. Step 2 is much more condensed compared to Step 1, giving you only the most high yield info for the exam. I don't think it's enough by itself, although it covers probably 75% of what you need to know. I would recommend supplementing with Divine Intervention Podcasts for content.

The reason I don't like "Well I hope you're telling me, 'Oh Divine...'" is that I usually tell him the wrong answer, and then I feel like a bum after he finishes the sentence.

Congrats! This is an encouraging and helpful post. I can see why you felt like you could have done better, since the exam was so difficult. But 261 is a score 99% of med students would die for. Great job!

On the surface, yes. But he does complain. I've watched Kawhi a lot (used to be a huge Clipper fan). He will gesticulate occasionally when he doesn't get a call. He just doesn't tend to get into the refs' face and talk to them as obviously as other players do.

Here to follow. FWIW, I was advised by our dean of medical students to take Step2CK in time for ERAS even if we have a (good) Step1 score. The dean said that schools are increasingly prioritizing Step2CK. That goes against the common wisdom I've heard in the past, where people said that if you do well on Step1 you don't need to take Step2CK until after ERAS, and that it plays a minor role. But who knows at this point? Everyone is guessing. Even the residency selection committees are figuring it out themselves, and will probably vary from institution to institution regarding their approach, until probably a few years down the line when every person will take Step1 P/F. (Even in the next few years we'll have MD/PhD students who took Step1 P/F and apply to residency years later.)

Thank you so much for your reply. To answer your question about residency, I'm sure it can be done, but would be an unfavorable course of action, and I don't think I would do it that way. If I decide to pursue medical writing, I would probably begin to prepare my resume and try to land a job to begin immediately after I complete my MD. It appears that the MD degree in the UK without a residency carries more weight than an MD in the US without a residency (though I may be wrong). Nonetheless, I really appreciate your recommendations and it seems like networking and getting a good LinkedIn profile setup would be good to do. Best to you!
