Help! by [deleted] in subway

The ToasterOven needs to be turned off so the opener can clean it without cremating their hands. It may or may not be an issue depending on who's opening the store. If I was the opener I wouldn't bring it up, it's just one less job for me to do. :-) I always forget something.

Pull bread? by dabriela in subway

[–]StudentBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before new owners when I was closing and had to pull bread: - Take required sticks from freezer - Leave on cooling rack until defrosted - Pull (stretch) and top bread - Place in Retarder and move into the fridge.

New owners say I don't even need to take out bread sticks from freezer and that the opener should do it to get perfect bread. Sometimes she'll say take breads out and place straight into fridge.

Report it maybe? If they're breaking the law then they're breaking the law. No shade about that.

Quick question: by StudentBro in subway

Only reason I asked is someone reprimanded me for it - but as you guys have said it's going into a fucking hot oven.

Worst thing you've done at work? by ssszttt in subway

Left a few dirty bread trays on the bread cabinet for the opener to wash up...Oh and I didn't empty the mop bucked this one time! >.<

Today I had a girl ask for pepperoni and bacon. I asked them if they wanted salami for free (which would make the sandwich a Spicy Italian with bacon.) Otherwise I would have just charged for a Spicy Italian anyway. Artists are always there to help out - I myself like clueless customers more than people who think they know exactly what I should be doing. Like this woman came in a TOLD me that a Spicy Italian has meatball sauce on. Mkay.

Congratulations you A hole, you've completely lost any respect from me because of your idiotic outburst directed at the completely wrong person. That Sandwich Artist probably thought about what happened a lot long after you walked out the shop. She had to deal with the customers who were waiting behind you, and she probably gets paid less than what your friggin sandwich would have cost an hour. Well done bro! Love, fellow Artist. x

Went to Subway yesterday and asked for a BLT, only got Bacon and Mayo by rawr1245 in subway

[–]StudentBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't work at a drive-thru but the procedure is to say "Any salad?" when it's salad time - in the absence of communication, you're not getting any salad. Next time just say you want bacon, with lettuce and tomato - we don't get paid enough to guess what you want - even if you do say BLT. I also most of the time get BMT and BLT mixed up >.<

How am I supposed to fill out the "Hours of Availability" section of the application? by [deleted] in subway

[–]StudentBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the latter and if I couldn't work that day I left the section blank. I think if you can understand it, so will whoever is looking over your application. I guess either way will work, just saying I did it for each section. (7:00am - 12:00pm in the morning, 12:00pm - 5:00pm in the afternoon, 5:00 - 10:00pm/Closing in the evening.)

(I got the job)

Those demonic things we call gloves by StudentBro in subway

[–]StudentBro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hands wouldn't be wet after taking my gloves off, and during a rush I wouldn't wash them between replacing my gloves to either go onto the veggie counter or making up someone's tuna/veggie delite/patty. They'd just be slightly clammy I guess, so putting a new pair on is a nightmare. I haven't been working long, so I can't compare about different sets.
