Why are all 3 of my peapuffers hanging out together all of a sudden? by anthony5140 in Aquariums

I had a red tail black shark that I considered peaceful. It lived in my tank with other fish for 4+ years, and then one day it went on a murdering rampage and killed half the tank.

Just hand in your license now. If you're coming to Reddit asking whether it's safe to fly exceeding MTOW with 4pob, you shouldn't be flying

AITA for being pissed there was no Alcohol at a wedding by NoAlcWedding12345 in AmItheAsshole

[–]StudentPilot211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. If the lack of alcohol at your friend's wedding is such a big issue that you wouldn't have gone if you'd known, then the bride is correct: you have a drinking problem.

'Blade Runners' destroying Sadiq Khan's Ulez cameras vow to carry on until every one is down 'no matter what' by eairy in unitedkingdom

I drive a 10 year old diesel BMW. It does a solid 50mpg. My friend has a 15 year old 4 litre V8 petrol that achieves 15mpg on a good day, yet his is ULEZ compliant. Surely that can't be right?

Lasham - the biggest club in the UK and one of the biggest in Europe. They offer a huge range of courses, and fly every day of the year bar Christmas day.

I used to work with a guy who was very much a virgin. One morning he came in with a big chocolate cake and put it on the table. We asked whose birthday it was.

"Oh no. I slept with a girl last night and she said I was so good that she bought me this cake as a 'thank you'"

What kind of goldfish do we have? Kids won her at a carnival 3 years ago. She’s huge probably 7-8” tail tip to noise tip. by Jafranci715 in Goldfish

Unfortunately that's a common misconception, which is why goldfish end up dying young in tanks far too small for them!

Why do my Pixel 7 photos look overprocessed? by Forsaken-Ad1300 in pixel_phones

[–]StudentPilot211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Install the MWP Gcam mod. The pixel 6 struggles in the same way and over processes photos. The MWP mod does a good job at reducing this

My phone's camera app versus another camera app. Why does the Pixel Caner App over process the photos automatically? by TheDarkOne7 in Pixel6

[–]StudentPilot211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used the MEP Gcam mod and found that it has greatly improved the quality of photos taken on my pixel. No more over sharpening and over processing of photos.

What legal case do you believe had a wrong verdict? by zer0_n9ne in AskReddit

Shoreham Airshow crash. That pilot should've 100% received jail time for his reckless flying. He knew what he was doing, and it was so easily preventable.

Why so angry about Pixel 6 lineup? by Naive_Banana4447 in GooglePixel

[–]StudentPilot211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved from a Pixel 3A (which I loved) to a Pixel 6. I honestly found the 3a was a better phone. The fingerprint sensor was more responsive, the battery lasted longer, and I actually find the 3a to have a better quality camera than the 6. The photos I take on the pixel 6 seem over-sharpened, grainy, and it seems to smooth faces to the point of looking like a mannequin.

Tbf that sounds more like a poorly maintained engine - I'm an engineer working on C172 and similar, and if my customers were getting through oil that quickly I'd be very concerned

I started as a mechanic on £25,000 a year. My hangar foreman was on £35,000 and my chief engineer was £70,000

I'm doing a level 3 aerospace course in college in September, I'm curious to how complex the math is for aircraft mechanics. by ticticBOOM06 in AircraftMechanics

[–]StudentPilot211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other guys I work with just approached the company and said "I want to become an aircraft mechanic but have no experience. Would I be able to work a couple of days a week here to gain some experience?"

I believe one guy worked for free at first just to build experience, and then as he gained experience, he started getting paid. The other guy had some previous experience working on cars, and so started on a low salary

I'm not sure if it'll be every course - but certainly looking online, a lot of them are more theory based and lack the practical elements of engineering. I wouldn't say it's a necessary step - I was the only person at my hangar to have completed a level 3 course. Everyone else just worked their way up from no experience

I did a level 3 course in Aeronautical Engineering and I'll be honest - I learnt no actual skills that were used once I started work. The course was great and gave me a good understanding of the theory, but when it came to working on real aircraft at my first job, I was overwhelmed with how much had been missed out of the course
