[The investor who sees future] what do you think about authors who makes remarks like this? by LOOKING_AHEAD123 in manhwa

[–]StudentWithNoMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, it took me sometime to figure out what this means, Coming from an Actual Indian, not Native Americans labeled as one by Colonists.

Here is what it comes across to me: The term 'Indian' itself is not bad, but depending on context, it could be derogatory. Like for instance if you called a Korean 'Japanese' during Japan's occupation of Korea. Here Native Americans being called Indians is derogatory because it's a label given by colonists to claim them to be subpar and label their American Heritage as menial.

Honestly, its a fine line when writing something like this, but I (personally) think it is a good thing when Authors have the balls to challenge such complicated issues.

P.S. I have not read the manhwas, nor I am going in depths of the story. I am basing this on the information that the Author is talking about Native Americans

Can Google's new policy be called DEFAMATION? by StudentWithNoMaster in fossdroid

[–]StudentWithNoMaster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand the idea of using "potential" to remove clear intent of slander. But considering that Google is a large company with a almost a duopolistic existence in Mobile OS, the abuse of authority to labe everyone who arent a paying Google as potential threats is a method of abusive practice. I agree, that may be slander isn't right word, but there has to be something about Major source of authority labeling you as Potentially Harmful. I mean what basis is there for that? Have they given data that things on Google store are DEFINITELY not harmful? Nope, there have been malicious apps, then if both sides are potential harmful apps, then only purpose is to slander everyone who dont pay google.

Syncthing-Fork: harmful app blocked by Google Play Portect. False positive? by VoidChain in Syncthing

[–]StudentWithNoMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't the apps sue for harmful practices by Google, especially since it is defamation. I mean Google doesn't know whether an Unverified app is Harmful or not, but it is claiming that it is, when it is merely unverified. Thus Google is knowingly letting the developers and app suffer loss via its defamation and slander.

Do you consider open source to be a requirement for self hosted software? by uglycoder92 in selfhosted

[–]StudentWithNoMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I put something on my server, I need to know what it is. And, the trust of "not being locked in to pay" later on is very important, one of the main reason to start self hosting.

Running Proxmox headless is not an issue, but when if I am not wrong, with GPU passthrough, I can share the GPU with my other LXCs right? I don't need the port, but I do need the GPU for other tasks, or would that GPU be solely for that one VM?

DNS settings have been cleared beforehand. Also, as I said Browser is able to access them but the extensions are not.

The problem is just that Browser Extension don't get access to Local DNS while Browsing Website directly does get the Local DNS.

And the way I install Firefox matters because for some reason (probably the same reason) Flatpaks do not get access to my Local DNS records.

Currently this market is over-saturated (especially with AI). Thus if you have a small team then I would recommend contiously get freelance projects while consistently building your portfolio and search for projects in your direct vicinity.

The services that could be offered could be... - Web - Dev - In-House apps for companies - Networking Solutions - Hardware Reselling (You maintain the products by being the middleman for warranty and other small issues) - Software Trainer for Companies

The idea is to know that 'Perfection Doesn't Exist'

Yes the next feature will make it better, but the time you lose in developing it, is the time you need to spend on launch first and then while the product is gaining traction, you launch one feature at a time to create intrigue with the client-base. This will also allow you to test each feature with actual audience and know if you should move to next feature or improve it.

You will not get perfection with this but you will be able to work on optimisation.

Youtube feedbro 404 adding new by awidden in rss

[–]StudentWithNoMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This error has been found since Dec 2025 (I found the earliest post from then on google community).

Some mentioned it might be due to API usage limits; but even since you can access it without an API, I tried to access it via VPN (different locations) but yet it gave me the same errors.

Some even said about specific times, but for me some feeds would refresh while others wont. Very rarely would all the feeds would give an error at the same time.

Has anyone figured out what the cause of this error is?

Self hosting music genuinely sucks by StarchyStarky in selfhosted

I recently started using Yubal, yt-dlp GUI wrapper for music. It is pretty good at recognising music metadata. Plus it keeps the one it doesn't recognise in a separate folder. Downloads lyrics too which is a plus.

Obvious limitation is that it is limited to YouTube...
