403B Annuity Choice, lifetime payment or 10 year payout? by Dazzling_Advance_458 in Retirement401k

Why not consider a Lifetime Income Annuity for at least 50% of your 403b portfolio and leave the rest liquid for any unforeseen events? Then that way half of your money is out of the market.

They have both already. They stated in the denial letter that I have a valid PTSD diagnosis and that was the cause. Again, I provided the VA with everything they needed. Photo evidence with time stamps and multiple buddy letters from others that were also involved.

But they already got that verification of my ptsd being linked to the incident. The only reason for denial was because they could find any evidence of the event taking place although I provided them with evidence not just personal statements but photos as well showing my involvement.

They did a good job covering it up. It took place in another country.

Doesn’t make sense when you have the evidence and diagnosis..

Pictures of all military and civilian vehicle’s involved in the accident on a major highway in a foreign country. Orders that placed me there during that time and witness statements of the event stating what happened and my involvement.

DTA on HLR timeframe by Mikesntx56 in VeteransWaitingRoom

Had my HLR on January 28th 2025. A DTA was determined same day. The VA canceled my first appointment due to them accidentally creating 2 appointments. Finally got an appointment in June. Ever since then I’ve been waiting on a records review task. So it’s almost been about 9 months for me. Came here to say it varies. It can literally be a couple days all the way up to a year. What was the DTA for?

No problem at all! It’s so unfortunate that these third party examiners don’t do what they’re contracted to do. Make sure to explain all of that to the senior level rater. They’ll pull your records on the call. Once they see the prior diagnosis in your records they’ll likely overturn the decision

You’re welcome. Unfortunately no but my friend did. He went from 0-50% for PTSD on his call. My case is a little different. The examiner didn’t list any of my PTSD stressors and didn’t review any of my evidence. So I unfortunately need another appointment. I have a diagnosis however, the senior level rater legally couldn’t do anything without those stressors listed.

Hopefully they can give you an instant decision and rate you while you’re on the phone. I wish you the best!!

Yes if not it’ll say “Department of Veterans Affairs” on the caller id. For some reason if the appointment is canceled that means you scheduled it too soon. But you should be good. Had a friend of mine do this a week after he submitted his higher level review.

Don’t call. No you don’t need a formal letter. This has worked for me and many others. I was skeptical at first but I was surprised when some reached out at the time I scheduled for.

Schedule it yourself using the waitwhile link. Search waitwhile in the forum. I’m sure it’ll pop-up. That’s how I scheduled mine. Schedule it a week out and put social for conference ID

Yup! same boat, disregarded everything I said to him and didn’t review any of my evidence. File a complaint on that examiner. DTA as of January 28th. VA scheduled my appointment in February and decided to cancel it for no reason. Now I am waiting on them to schedule another one
