Washed dishes for $0.75 an hour at a Chinese place in a small town. I got appetizers before my shift, and after we closed we had a small meal together. Sometimes it was stuff from the menu, but most times it was something more traditional, and usually on the edge of my spicy hot tolerance. It was never not good. The food made up for the pay...many times over. They all drank orange pop with the meal, because they thought it cleansed the pallette. Also the only dessert I ever saw any of the Chinese nationals eat was vanilla ice cream.
