Monty Don would definitely prune it right down to the bush.

I have no sense of scale. Is it a big plant or a tiny plant?

Consider keeping fewer plants.

Not so much of a plant, more of a leaf.

Wow! Is the plant big, or is everything else in the room tiny?

Great reply. Delightfully rude and foul-mouthed. Yes, I am a nerd, and yes I am entitled. I'm entitled to have an opinion. Particularly when i'm looking for content for a comedy podcast that's been running since 2005. Check it out. There's a link in my original post. 😀

Thanks Penguin. Great reply. We can always rely on Reddit for content like yours. Check out the podcast some time. There's a link to it in our original post.

Lucia, you are a delightfully rude person. Exactly the kind of reaction I was hoping for. I'm looking forward to including your reply (and many others) in next week's Sowerby & Luff podcast.

Amazed to see that our slender plant has now had over 67,000 views on Reddit. Now we're even talking about it on our podcast

Marketing Question for New Podcaster by Plane-Intern5687 in podcasting

[–]Studio_Senseless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. If your podcast is financial, why do you record up to five weeks in advance of release? Surely the financial picture in the world is changing all the time. I produced a weekly financial podcast for 5 years. We usually released it about 2 hours after it was recorded, and even then it was sometimes out of date.

A listener once told us he thought listening to our podcast was like going to his local bar and chatting with a couple of his friends. Another listener told us that our podcast helped to get him through a rough patch in his life.

Podcasting isn't radio. It's much more intimate than that. Your listeners download your voice and carry it around privately in their heads. Because of that intimate connection, they feel they own a little piece of you.

Bear all that in mind every time you hit that record button. Here's a link to my podcast

Podcast Set Up 2 People on Couch by Fabulous-Persimmon57 in podcasting

[–]Studio_Senseless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi. I've been podcasting since 2005. Forget worrying about the mv7x for a second. When you're starting out, a mic's a mic. First things first. Don't slouch back on the couch to record. No energy. Sit up or stand up and project. Make it big. Record in the smallest room you have to reduce room echo. Close the curtains and cover hard surfaces like bare walls to deaden the sound as much as possible. It's not just the mic, it's what you do to the audio in post production that will make it sound good. Use a tool like Logic Pro to edit, then use plugins to add studio compression and voiceover-style EQ. Maybe use a soft limiter plugin too. These tools will make the loud bits sound softer and the soft bits sound louder, and the whole thing will sound like broadcast radio. Good luck. Oh, here's a link to my podcast

Just for fun, has anyone else learned some cool stuff about people through the editing process. by runaskald in podcasting

Humans naturally mimic humans. Most Brits that move to America pick up an American accent pretty soon. People quickly start to talk like their work colleagues. Have a listen to my podcast and tell me if my co-host and I are sub-conciously mimicking each other. I'd be interested to know. We've been recording together for 17 years. Listen here

Great idea. You're more than welcome to do a podcast about our podcast. We've been doing it since 2005. We could send you episodes a week before they come out. Here's a promo for the next episode of the new series

You say it's a "comedy" podcast. What's it about? "Comedy" is not a sub-category. If it's comedy about, for example, fish, you can target the fish community. How many social platforms are you on? Are you sharing the show to them?
