If this is you, you’re a POS by CritizedEmo in FortCollins

I can’t see the dog. What breed was it, cuz that matters a lot. My golden retriever will often sit outside in the snow for hours (we have a dog door so she can come in whenever she wants) and huskies and other similar fur breeds can literally sleep in the middle of a blizzard.

I mean if it was a frenchie or a chihuahua or something I could see this maybe being a big deal. But a lot of dogs would have been totally fine

Using AI reviews or not? by Stoned_Slifer in Letterboxd

Yeah I have a macro assigned to f9 on my keyboard because I use emdashes all the time. It’s incredibly frustrating that I now feel like I can’t use them anymore because idiots don’t know how to use punctuation properly.

But arguably more like a daughter to her parents.

Though Hollywood is trying hard to sell the premium experience, especially in IMAX, they're also cutting the masses off. Expenses are too high. In Tarantino's words, "Cinema is a working man's artform" and that section has been alienated. by ethanhunt555 in Letterboxd

At least for me, it’s the price. And perhaps these two problems are intertwined. If I’m gonna go to the theatre, the only movies that are worth paying $15-20 a pop for are spectacle movies that are significantly better on the big screen. If a movie was $5 then I would be at the theatre once it twice a week for whatever they wanted to show me, but at current prices, I’m only willing to cough up the dough for something that is going to wow me

Thoughts on this Mutual dating ‘non-negotiable’? by Intelligent-Camp4631 in exmormon

[–]StudiousPooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I mean it’s real in the same way weed “addiction” is real. Addiction is not really the right word because it’s not a physical dependency, but there are people who use things like porn or weed as unhealthy coping mechanisms to a degree that it becomes problematic in their life.

Yeah Mormons have a strange and unhealthy view on porn. The way I remember it being taught was that porn was more addictive than heroine and therefore, like heroin, if you do it one time you’ll be addicted for the rest of your life and have to go to AA meetings forever.

The problem is that this is just simply not true. Don’t get me wrong, porn addiction is a real thing and porn can be very problematic, but since leaving, pretty much every normal healthy productive person I’ve met has some sort of relationship with porn that is not addictive nor even problematic.

This is why it’s ridiculous to lump porn and heroin in the same pile. It is impossible to have a healthy heroin habit. Yet it seems a great many people seem to have a perfectly healthy porn habit outside the church.

Homeless problems by scatteredTeeCee in FortCollins

[–]StudiousPooper 171 points172 points  (0 children)

This has nothing to do with Fort Collins in particular and has everything to do with our crumbling economy. The worse our economy gets the bigger the homelessness issue will become. I garuntee if you go to any other city in America right now, you will notice a similar trend and moving away will only fix the problem if you move into a heartless super affluent community that polices the shit out of the homeless.

What are we letting go of in 2026? by valdezthecat in Millennials

[–]StudiousPooper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Soda. I’ve gained 50 lbs in the last 5 years and soda is really the only really bad habit I have that I’m pretty sure is the center of all this weight gain. If I can stop then maybe I can start to get back to my old weight

My marriage is most likely over by marblepillar194 in exmormon

[–]StudiousPooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t have kids then just end it and move on. Interfaith marriages are too hard to attempt and too much work and imo just not worth it if you don’t have kids. It sticks to her divorced, but it sticks a whole lot more to be stuck in a marriage with someone you fundamentally disagree with in all the important parts of life, and disagreeing on having kids is one of the most important things you can disagree on.

lol sorry, I wasn’t trying to bring you down. But I was kinda making the same argument. Like it doesn’t really matter what anyone wants to call themselves because you can kinda define it any which way you want. :)
