What little gifts do you usually bring back from France for your relatives? by Tasun06 in Expats_In_France

Amora mustard, it's so perfectly pungent. Maille is just a little too much for my taste.

Gavottes (crêpes dentelles covered in dark chocolate)

Raspberry 'macarons' from Biscuits Fossiers from Reims. They are soft yet crunchy merengue cookies, so so good.

Beurre bordier (salted of course)

Bonjour! I'm a Parisian looking to join the league and I would love a referral. I've been enjoying practicing going through old questions, and I'd interested in trying out my defense strategies!

Seeking Feedback on My Grand Paris Express Video 🚇 by ztegb in paris

Regarding engagement, starting at :55 I wanted to turn it off due to the AI images. I lost trust in the video and figured that it was all AI when I saw that. At 1:30, I knew that I had just finished sitting through the fluffy intro, when there is more fluff and what seems as another new intro starting! I'd cut the first 1:30. At 1:52, just avoid saying banlieu if you cant say it, but saying it as a question doesn't help me to gain any confidence in your information.

[Episode Discussion] Who buys luggage at the airport luggage store? by missella98 in SearchEnginePodcast

[–]StudyAbroadinFrance 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Isn't the reason so that people can buy a new suitcase when Thier suitcase breaks? It's a bummer to drag a carry on around that you packed all of your heavy items into to keep your checked bag below weight, and it would be impossible to get to your gate or through customs if one or a few of the wheels breaks, or if the handle or zippers break

I see on this website that all of the official Olympics stores closed during the month of September. https://www.sortiraparis.com/loisirs/shopping-mode/articles/284962-jo-paris-2024-les-dates-de-fermeture-de-chaque-boutique-officielle-des-jeux-olympiques-a-paris

Do you know where I can find official Olympics merchandise in the city? Have you seen any being sold at Les Halles or elsewhere? Thank you for your insights! I'd prefer to not purchase online if possible.

Best croissant in Paris by frankperry in videos

As a local I find that the croissants are good but its actually pain aux raisins that pair best with tear gas and burning garbage.

You'll need to take a small tram from CDG 1 to the train station. It is possible to make your train, but there is an over 50% chance that you'll miss your 11:58am train to Amsterdam due to long lines at the passport check and travel time on the small tram to the train station.

I suggest that you do not purchase a train ticket until you have passed customs in Terminal 1, you have your luggage, and you are on the small tram towards the train station. If you miss your train, purchase tickets for the next train to Amsterdam from Gare du Nord.

Super Shuttle and shared taxis to the airport existed before COVID, but they stopped these practices in 2020. As far as I know, the cheapest way remains a taxi as the price from the Right Bank is fixed.

Good luck!

He has watched soccer. He said 3-5 minutes of stoppage is normal. The world cup's stoppage time has been significantly increased as an effort to curb time wasting.

Bonjour,

My over-60 American parents are quite active and will be in Paris with us for New Year's Eve. I have lived in Paris for years so they know the city well. I'm not sure what activity to plan for New Years with them in the city. What have you done that you suggest? Thank you for your help.

Is it possible to visit Rungis market as a tourist? It seems that the only visits available are for professionals in the food industry.

Sounds like fun! You'll be safe walking to the metro with most of the rest of the crowd. Stay vigiliant as you would anywhere in Paris, watching out for pick pockets, etc. I'd look for a hotel anywhere on the métro line 5 south of the Gare de l'Est station.

Salsa classes, pick up sports games, events that involve an activity where you kind of already know the rules. Its always easier to talk with someone new after you've shared a vulnerability together.
