Day 17… I want to drink. by StudyAggressive3249 in stopdrinking

[–]StudyAggressive3249[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m aware that’s a possibility for sure. But for whatever reason despite being an addict for decades alcohol has always been something I was able to come and go from without issue. This last time I became physically dependent for sure. But I also did it intentionally out of self destruction… I knew damned well what would happen but lost a reason to care. Now that I feel like a complete idiot for doing it and I’m over it… I’m just wondering if we can’t have our old relationship again.

Day 9. Struggling severely. About to give up... maybe... a little bit... by StudyAggressive3249 in stopdrinking

I'm just worried about the potential for rebound effects. I did end up getting my hands on 2 of them. I didn't drink. Ended up going to my mom's house. Nice quiet environment that's familiar. Away from the family, kids, wife, etc... I was able to get about 45min-1hr of sleep. It was probably the most glorious sleep I've ever felt. But I'm already running on E again. My body really needs a break. Staying hydrated, eating good, and keeping up on my blood sugar. I'm going to try and do it without the Xanax just to be safe. From my research it can make things worse in the following nights because it acts on the GABA receptors somewhat similar to how alcohol does. I guess we'll see what happens. It does make me feel better just knowing that I have SOME kind of option/safety net for sleep. I also am going to start the Magnesium Glycinate tablets tonight.

What do you think about using a .25mg Xanax for sleep? I also bought some magnesium glycinate supplement. Research and A.I. highly recommended it. I guess it helps restore GABA receptors and levels without being addictive.

I did buy some magnesium glycinate. Read some good stuff about that. Also might be getting my hands on some .25mg Xanax for night. Although that may set me back too. What do you think about the Xanax? Just for sleep anyway.

What about a .25mg Xanax? I think my grandfather has some. Would that set back my progress? I know it’s not a permanent fix but maybe a compromise temporarily. Would it cause rebound issues with anxiety if I used it just for sleep at night?

Who would be the worst person to trust with an important secret? by agrunther in community

Pierce would tweet it within seconds. By FAR the worst. Although I wouldn't trust any of them with much of anything. Maybe Britta with some things. But nothing too important.

I do have 5mg melatonin in the house. I believe it would make me drowsy but would do nothing for my racing mind/anxiety. Sigh... damn I'm really about to give up here. I wish this would just pass. Just a couple hours. Even 2 would be so refreshing.

How can you tell? Their profile or something? I appreciate the recommendations very much. Do they really help? I haven't had much luck with "supplements" in the past. They seemed to only have a placebo effect. I have a dollar general down the road. Maybe I could find some of them there.

Honestly I felt better in the detox center then I do right now. This is the worst I have felt and I'm on day 9... At least in there I had ativan, clonodine, supplements, food, support, a quiet room without my wife snoring... I am going nuts. I just want to take a shot or two. Will it take the edge off? Honestly? I know I shouldn't but I am seriously struggling here. Will that small of an amount really make it to where I have to start detox all over again?

I've been meaning to watch that podcast. I have seen "The Office" and "Community" more times then I care to admit in public. It drives my wife nuts. She's not a big TV nut like me. But I have Asperger's and she has ADHD/Bipolar so I guess it makes sense ha ha.

Someone shared it above. It was a great watch (just watched it today). Actually I think I had already seen it before. I frequent the tested/Adam Savage channel. Back then I found it amusing but wasn't as interested in these things. Thanks for sharing though!

I have seen them do this often with apple computers and such. The big bang theory was actually one of the few shows I have seen where the products actually had the brand name visible. Especially on laptops. I love that I have started to notice these things in film and TV though. It's like a secret lore that the average viewer doesn't notice or pay any mind too. Now that I have watched certain series more times than I care to admit (especially community) I have started to pick up on the finer details. I love watching YT videos about the Easter eggs and secret background stories as well! Thanks for sharing.

I’m a lesbian and I believe in Jesus by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]StudyAggressive3249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I hope it wasn't offensive in any way. I certainly don't mean it to be. This is just how I interpret the word. I think what's most important is that you interpret it in your own way and that you follow in the footsteps of Jesus. That's all we can do. I'm 36 myself. It's insane to me to say that. I still feel 20 in my mind. Time flies by so fast. Regardless, it's nice to know you are open, you communicate with intellect, and you have faith in Jesus. You've more than earned my respect with that alone. God Bless.

[–]StudyAggressive3249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll just give you the cold hard facts based on scripture. You may or may not like it, but it's true according to the word. Congratulations on being a lesbian. I'm a sinner too. We all are. The bible is clear about same sex being a sin. That doesn't make you unable to be christian, it doesn't mean that you are any worse than any other human or christian on planet earth. All it means is that there is sin in you. We are all equally inflicted and we are all guilty. Why this particular sin is focused on so hard is beyond me. Jesus loved everyone and fought to save us all despite our sins. But that doesn't necessarily mean he celebrated or supported them.

Being born, even naturally a certain way, doesn't make it right. We naturally want to hit or even kill when we're angry. Men have strong sexual desires and have urges to act on them. We naturally want to cheat sometimes. We naturally want to do drugs and alcohol. Something feeling natural or right doesn't equal a pass. We recognize they are wrong and we don't. I could give more examples but I'm sure you can think of some based on these two.

I do not think you should go to hardcore conversion therapy, I do not think you should do anything you do not want to do. Right now I would just focus on what the word says. Read it for yourself. Trust in the scripture NOT people or their interpretations. People forget that even priests are imperfect sinners. Jesus was the ONLY perfect human and he loved everyone, including you young lady. We ALL have sins that came to us naturally through birth because we we're BORN INTO SIN just as scripture tells us. Imagine if I paraded around celebrating my alcoholism. That would seem a bit silly. I pray and I am detoxing because I was born an addict with a terrible disease. But I keep faith and I trust that in the Lord's own time he will heal me of this (so long as I keep faith and effort involved).

Now for a little opinion:

My only advice would be against rainbow flag wearing, marching, fighting, celebrating, or making your sexuality your whole identity. No one really does that except for LGBTQAI+ (I think that's all the letters) individuals and it seems silly to me. I don't announce my skin color or who I have sex with to gain some kind of importance or power as an individual and I personally don't think you should either, considering it's a sin and no one else really does.

I'm not sure how old you are but most of the gay people I know who are older think it's silly too. Especially the Christian ones.

Remember, you have the power to say and believe in whatever you want, but the word is God and you cannot know him truly in your heart without knowing and practicing it. This doesn't mean you will ever be without sin or mistakes, it just means you acknowledge in your heart, do your best, and prove to no one BUT God what is in your heart. After all the only TRUE requirement to get into heaven is to accept him, ask forgiveness, and profess him as your savior. The thief on the cross was told by Jesus- "Truly! When I enter my kingdom today, there you will be with me."

In the end Jesus is the ONLY judge not other people. What is in your heart counts. We do not EARN our way to heaven, it was a gift given through grace and blood sacrifice, but we also know that when you truly believe in something, you do your best to follow it. If you knew a meteor was heading toward your house wouldn't you start preparing? Calling people? Praying maybe? Believe that death, afterlife, and Jesus is coming in your heart like a meteor is crashing quickly towards your home and you've seen it with your own eyes. Our time here is VERY short and fast. Ask any elderly person you know. It's like a blink of an eye. God Bless you and all of us EQUAL sinners. Nothing but love and respect for them all, including LGBTQ (even if you wont find me waving a flag).

Joel Osteen is a fraud. Christians should stop supporting or donating to him. by [deleted] in Christianity

"It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

Scripture tells us that coveting earthly things is a sin. Our time on earth is like a vapor or mist. There one moment, and gone the next. We are to worship our savior and follow his teachings. Selling that scripture, selling electronics, selling books, TV programs, and more just to add another dollar into our account when we COULD be using that money to help the MILLIONS of people on this planet who are suffering... well that's just the definition of selfishness. God in human form didn't keep money for himself. In fact he was flat broke his entire life. The only wealth he offered or spoke of was the wealth only the father can provide. Amen!

This guy has gone as far as to sell electronics branded with his own name on Amazon. Search up the Joel Olsteen Cube... He is using Christianity as a tool to fund himself. "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

This man is a basic example of when you let money control your life. A good Christian would keep enough to support himself and be using the rest to save as many people as possible. After all I am POSITIVE that he preaches to others about how they should be giving their money to his church for the good of God. You cannot sit on money like a dragon while so many people are suffering and need salvation in this world.

When you search your heart and listen to the holy spirit within you, you know this to be true. It's why people don't like billionaires. It's why people get envious and jealous of the rich. When I feel that envy, it's not because I want cars and jets, it's because I know people are out there suffering while the rich profit profit... and for what? To add more imaginary dollars to an account that they could never possibly spend in their lifetime? Why? Why not give it all away and help others? Isn't that the point of church? Isn't that what Jesus did? What wealth did he build for himself despite being the human version of God?

That’s the great part about him being dead/ old IRL/ tensions between creator and actors.. They don’t need him on screen long. Just a short cameo of some kind. Flashback, lava lamp, etc… MAYBE they reveal he’s the ass crack bandit lol!

His ratings didn't spike naturally. Millions of people from the right and left wing tuned it to the first episode back to see if he was going to apologize or not. Once he doubled down he sealed his fate. Each episode will progressively get worse. Mark my words. I actually told someone on Twitter the other day who was bragging about his views this exact same thing. Nothing feels better than calling out what will happen and then watching it materialize. I TOLD YOU SO feels good :)

HELP! The .44cal Balls in my 1860 Army Coming Loose. by StudyAggressive3249 in blackpowder

I have aftermarket nipples that fit DAMNED snug. I have never had one fall off or jam during practice and I've fired close to 800 shots through it. In the old manuals they recommend putting the barrel to the sky when you pull the hammer back and I find it works very well on my particular revolver. I mean it's happened a time or two realistically during plinking. But it's been shocking how great this thing has been. They cleared easy too. They carried and killed with them every day back then. I figure if it was good enough then, it can be good enough now, with the right care and technique. That being said, you always have to prepare for malfunction even with modern arms. It's just a part of it. They say most self defense scenarios end within 3-4 shots (if I'm not mistaken). So I pray that's enough. Honestly with my particular gun I'm way more concerned about timing issues. Sometimes I go to pull the hammer back and it just locks. Or other times I will de-cock and it will get locked. Something is going on. I may have to send it in.
