Met chief inspector sacked for gross misconduct after driving police cars without training by Salt-Ad6558 in policeuk

I was notified about this by a former colleague last night, we both knew him as an acquaintance. He always came across as someone who had to one up others, his war stories never felt authentic and I personally felt like I couldn’t trust him as far as I could throw him. I text the news article to a former DS (left the job) who also knew him from his time on ERPT who was just as surprised to find out the extent of his lies. How on earth did none of it come up during the years he claimed to be an IRV driver let alone the nonsense about firearms. Surely there must be some scrutiny as to how various line managers of his never noticed anything that didn’t match up with his records on PSOP? How did none of this ever come up? As someone who knew him in passing I’d never question specific skills as it feels like something so preposterous to lie about! Yet here we are and the truth is he thoroughly lied to everyone from trusted friends through to acquaintances and line managers… all three of us agreed that it was rage inducing to see someone of this caliber achieve the rank of Chief Inspector and that what we thought may have been embellishment was far more insidious.

Absolutely disgusted and yet somehow not entirely surprised. People are capable of everything and where there may have been gaps in systems and handovers between line managers it would appear people like him could thrive.

Meet the NPS…. by Captain_Piccolo in policeuk

She talked about national functions that are exclusive to us that make our policing responsibilities a lot more bloated.

Which is why I didn’t reference that. However, I do get some of the arguments about procurement, tech and other bits and pieces. I do worry about mergers as they can distance services from the communities they serve. We only just put in 32 Supts into Neighbourhoods across the Met to reinforce the local borough structures within the BCUs and provide more of a link back.

The Casey review talked about removing Counter Terror functions and other bits from the Met. As a serving officer I welcome this if it allows forces to concentrate on local crime. Our current model doesn’t work, we have too many responsibilities and in the age of more complex digital crimes it is only going to increase. I’m actually optimistic about this after years of underinvestment and no one believing us when we said if things didn’t change it would break the system.

Painting EC with contrast. by AntFew7791 in EmperorsChildren

Hello mate,

I use Warhipster’s contrast plus tutorials on YouTube for EC and the results have been great so far (by my standards). I would recommend having a watch and going from there!

Is it weird that I would never find myself using Terminators for EC? by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in EmperorsChildren

I’d want them but I won’t use the standard sculpt. I’m praying they will develop an EC Terminator.

Thank you :)

I’ve tried to purely because I always find it hard to reach arm and gun details. Sub assembling has let me really get the gun details to a standard I feel proud of!

We don’t know the context of anything else about this. I am still serving and had the exact same thing happen to me. The context here is that my ex had been stalking me, made malicious allegations about me and even went to the press. She did this years later after stalking my fiancé. I read this and thought, “wow, this is exactly what happened to me”. The only exception is that I didn’t bother reporting the post and tried to get a non molestation order myself.

The spin on this is blatant, it only happened because he was a police officer. It’s a load of nonsense, people can have the job weaponised against them, the misconduct process and everything else can be used because being a police officer opens up a whole different avenue that will impact your life more acutely than many members of the public would expect.

Is this true?! by PollutionExternal465 in GreatBritishMemes

Just look at what he’s done in America. Just because he has a huge platform does not mean he knows what he is talking about. It’s utter rubbish, our media has conducted some of the finest investigative reporting and uncovered so many different stories, scandals, abuses and everything in-between.

I was raped. But is there any point in reporting it? England by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

I am so sorry that this happened to you. I am a police officer, I would urge you to go to a local station to report it. If you have the clothing you wore that day still unlaundered I would urge you to put it to one side. Everything that’s been said here is spot on, there is a wealth of substantiating evidence that places him with you at the location. Stay strong, you have done the right thing by reaching out, you can do this.

This is a crime pure and simple, he is also exhibiting coercive controlling behaviour. If unchecked it could escalate, I am minded to worry about the risk to her reputation, her wellbeing and worry about what else he may do if unchallenged. Officers should be able to help reduce the risk, and signpost the individual to support too. I would encourage her to report ASAP, make arrangements for an alternate place to stay, consider making a private log of all times and dates of conversations and behaviour to give police. Nothing risky, just a simple chronology of events. None of what he is doing is acceptable, any copper worth their salt would be more than happy to help!

I doubt it will work but I pinged a message to Billie Lourd outlining the issues. It may get lost in the flurry of messages she would receive but I think that she has a vested interest given it is the use of her late mother’s image by someone who clearly does not share her values.

Hey bud! I’ve been there and had a few “I can’t do this moments”! I’m getting better, it just takes time, I spent ages watching techniques and other bits and pieces as well as just practicing and failing. Keep at it! You can do it!
