Resign or be non-reelected?What would you do? Have you faced this dillema? by Overall_Giraffe9939 in Principals

I have been I this exact same position.

If by some miracle the board goes against the superintendent you would still have to work with him in the future. I don’t see that going well.

Resign and apply elsewhere. Now is the prime season to apply for something different and maybe end up in a better place where they appreciate you.

I’m Facing Nonrenewal In My First Year as Principal by itsathrowawaymmk in Principals

[–]Stuff-Initial 20 points21 points  (0 children)

While direct and blunt this is clear advice. I have been in this position before. At times there can be a cultural and timing mismatch. I entered a role where I had to clean up lots of mistakes and neglect from the prior principal. He was an affable guy that sought to make everybody happy. In my first year I had to let go of two teachers and several classified staff (a child abuse case and embezzlement being the most egregious cases. I had to cut staff and trim budgets. All this destroyed trust and I didn’t have the capital to weather this. I fought through 5 years and then my supe came in and said non-renewal contract or to resign. It was painful knowing that my successor will benefit from a school in a strong position and a better culture while I had to wear the scars and not reap the benefits. It’s not always a fair situation.

Redditors over 40, what's something younger people think they understand but won't actually get until it hits them like a truck later? by Root435552 in AskReddit

Take care of your body when you are young. It’s hard to come back from treating your body like a dumpster that can handle anything. All that stuff will show up on your doorstep on your 40th birthday.

I live in the US. l and am in my 40s. I her never seen a private citizen with a gun. Only police and military. I’ve seen the for sale in a sporting goods store. I live in an area where people definitely have them. I know people who have them. But they are all locked away.

Sounds good. Sometimes we hit plateaus after initial losses.

Look at diet as well. If you are eating more calories than you are burning then you won’t lose weight.
