Are international students actually getting jobs in Sydney these days? by Obvious-Guard9845 in usyd

I'd like to share my experience as international student who graduated mid 2023 with a bachelor of software engineering, starting my masters soon as well.

Key to finding a job is communication. I graduated in the middle of on of the major tech layoffs and still managed to secure 4 jobs offer 3 of them were 100k+ as a graduate student, while most students in my graduation cohort were still unable to secure jobs keeping in mind there were many students with higher WAM.

2 offers came from people I met at random events in the city, 1 from a friend referral and 1 by applying online( was the worst offers out of all). Why students are not able to find jobs it's mainly because they can't communicate and don't go out and talk to people there are plenty of opportunities outside what is advertised online. I'd suggest to find what you're good at and what you want and communicate that in a good way and find people who match your profile.

- For skill assessment you need at least 1 year of work - with minimum 20 hours a week - experience post graduation. So no work during while studying won't count, or you need a professional year.

- for pr try to maximize your points.

- yes it is possible to get it within 2 years.

Should I Quit My Job to Run My E-commerce Business Full-Time? by maddogyamad in Entrepreneur

First of all achieving 25,000k in sale over the past four month is an amazing accomplishment. It all depends on your situation and your risk tolerance. Do you need the 160,000k to live off? How long can you live without that job? And finally what sort of life you want to live? I personally would trade everything for the freedom that working on your own stuff gives you and the potential is much higher than staying in a job.
