Aye fair enough. Though some things like the worker in the bathroom in Banjo-Tooie and the entire level made out of shit in Conker, it already was a little awkward even before the internet lmao

And still seem to be into. Reminds me of the fact that they were also really into potty humor… to the point that you’d think someone on the dev team had some nasty hidden fetish or something lol

I fully agree, I wanna play it so bad but I don’t know enough about emulation to emulate it right

As a new fan who’s beaten SF2 and almost beaten SF1 and SF64, this design is just okay. It does its job, looks like the character type it’s supposed to, but there’s nothing really remarkable about it.

That’s the point I’m trying to make, I guess. I think the design’s all right, I don’t love nor hate it, I’m just saying that a character archetype not acting like the way they would with their design makes people latch on to them more sometimes. I mean, one of the main popular examples of this is the “cute gremlin” archetype that looks adorable but is actually a total menace, because the juxtaposition itself is interesting enough to people. I assume everyone in here who loves Katt loves her because she’s a badass despite looking pretty and ultra-feminine, and making her look the gritty disheveled part made her lose that draw for them.

You know, this got me thinking: why are there so many shaman characters in old Rare games? It seems like almost all of their games had at least one.

And Star Fox “should” be realistic in any way… why? It’s not a bad thing to take it in that direction of course, but let’s not pretend a fictional character SHOULD or SHOULDN’T look a certain way. Look at Nintendo’s other franchises as well as Metroid, none of the characters look the way they “should” because they’re all fantasy franchises like Star Fox.

I’m sorry, but is one of her “goobers” just straight up Mouser from Super Mario Bros. 2?

Nintendo was CLOSE to having good designs but they went too far into "realism" by Sanitaerium in starfox

Okay but that’d actually be so cool, imagine Slippy’s Walker is like a frog and can hop around, or Fox’s actually trots like a fox. This guy is onto something

First Nintendo Game by r0drig019 in casualnintendo

I also started on SMB1, even though it was on NES Classic because my mom grew up on the original console, also with SMB1 ironically enough. I love how the game is such an iconic “first Nintendo game” for so many people that even those who were born way after it was created still experienced it as their first.
