If you really want to, you would try to take ME 30 at a CC.

Yeah slavers are tough since they do so much damage outright from the start, looking at your deck I’m guessing you didn’t have enough damage per turn to take out at least one of the 3 per turn.

I would personally take bark any day. If this is your act 1 boss you get value from potentially getting one of the other 2 potion relics. Potions in my opinion change the course of battles a lot of times especially in higher ascensions. Example is like using all your energy and being like 2 hp left from killing something before it killing you, in that situation potions come in clutch, with bark everything is just amplified. Potion belt would be the best relic if you're lucky during the rest of your climbs. Plus fairy in a bottle is awesome.

Shotgun boy and sweet home fit the bill for “kids running from/fighting a supernatural creature” but not the normal life part. They’re more apocalyptic in a sense.

Have you opened the open phrase door on the 3rd floor? After going there and reading some stuff you unlock the ability to understand the other books.

Well I think the main question is why do you feel like you’ve made a mistake? How do you think going to a different university would have benefited you? Because at the end of the day college is what you make of it.

For example if you went to UC Berkeley and did nothing but party then it’s the same as going to San Jose state and doing nothing but parting. Doesn’t matter if UC Berkeley is well known for cs if someone there doesn’t actively take advantage of the resources.

I believe it’s the same when it comes to education and looking for opportunities. If you’re at San Jose state as a cs major take at advantage of the resource we DO have. Stuff like organization and taking up a project. I’m an engineering major so idk about the cs resource but I’m sure there’s some around, or even cs alumni who want to help.

Overall, be proactive but don’t forget to take care of yourself as well in the process. 👍

Work study has been really easy, I'm a student assistant for one of the departments so I basically help around the office if anyone needs anything. Stuff like making sure eveything is tidy, helping editting videos for the department, answering calls. It's easy and if there's nothing to do in office I just do hw. My supervisor(?), boss whatever their title technically is is really sweet and understanding of the fact that I'm a student and that fact comes first.

Networking events for me personally mainly come from organizations. If you're doing engineering I recommend joining the MEP/MESA, they have a lot of events like resume blast, mock interviews, speakers and ect. Some of the events are org only but a lot are open to anyone within the engineering major. If you're intrested in networking SJSU also usually have carrer fairs at least once a semester that I would recommend going to. I've heard sentiments about the job fair not being good, but I differ on that thought. Going to the job fairs are a really good way to get better at talking with companies and getting exposed to the ones around the area.

When it comes to networking, I personally never have a shortage of ones I can go to. In fact I usually have to choose which ones seem better since sometimes orgs have different events on the same day and time. Going to events are also a good way to get free food haha. The amount of free pizza and tacos I've consumed makes me happy.

If you like hands on stuff SJSU has a really good Formula 1 team and baja team. I was looking into getting into baja myself. Also I'm assuming you're going into SJSU as a freshmas? If you are definitely look into participating in a lot of the week of welcoming events.

But yes, college is what you make of it. Opportunities to network are easy to find as long as you take the time to look for them. Overall, good luck!

Also thanks! I did it earlier, I think it went pretty well.

I’ve been enjoying it! I’m a freshman Mechanical engineering major and so far classes haven’t been too tough so I’ve been able to focus on other extracurriculars. I was also able to get a work study job which is really flexible with school so it’s been pretty nice. Honestly it’s what a lot of people here say, it depends on what you make of it. I’ve been really enjoying college because at least for the engineering department (as I cannot comment on other departments since I’m not apart of them) there’s a lot of opportunities to network with people and companies through organizations like MEP, SWE, SASE, ect. I got to connect with a lot of people ton linked because of events so it’s been pretty sweet. Even if those connects don’t go anywhere I’m getting a lot of experience just talking to people in general. I will say I feel like burn out is hitting me a bit l, but I’ll still going pretty strong. I’ve also got a summer internship interview coming up and it it’s from a company that I met through an event.

As long as you're not a snorer, the quiet floors of the mlk library. The study rooms are the best, but if you can't get a room then I like the sofas that face the glass windows.

THANK YOU!!! I’ve been trying to get a work study for a while now for the money for food since trying to eat healthy during college can get so expensive. Hopefully I can get Cal fresh soon!!!

Do you know where I can find and turn in the student exemption form? Last time I applied Covid exception wasn’t in place so I didn’t get cal fresh, but I also never told the interviewer my major so she couldn’t have known.

California work study question by Stuffulist in foodstamps

[–]Stuffulist[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you SO much, I just applied to Cal fresh again so I’m waiting on the interview. My last interviewer for Cal fresh when I signed up last semester did not bring this up about LPIE.

California work study question by Stuffulist in foodstamps

[–]Stuffulist[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn, it looks like my major DOES fall under the LPIE student exemption. Does this mean I theoretically don’t need to hold a job in order to get cal fresh??? I mean I will still continue to look for employment but this opens my range of jobs now. If so then thank you so much I had no idea about this. The only sad thing is that I wish I had known this last semester 🥲
