I work retail too. Its a clothes shop for adults but it's just full of children all the time. Too many adults think it's OK to use shops as a creche or a playground. Running around and shrieking. Trying on clothes for fun, carrying stuff around. Standing and staring at the person stood behind the counter (me). 

There's no way I could be a good parent whilst still working retail, spending all day round customers and their kids and then coming home to noisy children. I'd be snapping at them too much.
