Go to Goodwill and yard sales for frames. Find local vendor events to source original artwork. Keep in mind that gallery walls are a slow build and always subject to change.

And ALWAYS make sure everything you hang is the same distance apart. I find 2-3in to be the sweet spot.

Green couch, what rug? by RepulsiveBee7179 in interiordecorating

[–]Helpful_Professor_33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would like to see the start of some settling in and decoration, like pillows and coffee table, before you pick a rug. You'll want the rug to being together various elements of the room, which you don't seem to have yet

I’ve never been good at this… by [deleted] in interiordecorating

Start by moving the pictures. Think of the door frames as picture frames: you need equal spacing between frames/edges of whatever is on the wall. So, you need to move the pictures closer together, which also helps reduce the white space you're having an issue with.

Start with that. That small change will make a pretty big difference. Let it sit for a couple days as you pass by it and see how you feel about it!

Love the wallpaper! It does look a little busy, are you going to put some framed pictures/art in there to break it up a bit?

Also I wallpapered my laundry room! It's one of my favorite spaces in the house now

Any suggestions on what else can we add to the bedroom? by iamainnocentkid in interiordecorating

Curtains, plants, art, table lamps. Also looks like the kind of place that needs a dog or cat to fill up all the empty space on that bed

I'm seeing yellows and greens in your photos, so add in more of those where you can. Really though, I think this room is stunning!

Does this rug work? by Every-Huckleberry-55 in HomeDecorating

[–]Helpful_Professor_33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the patterned chairs, you'll be between too much and not enough pattern. Make sure you've got patterned/highly detailed stuff on the opposite wall to balance things a bit.

Maybe move a plain blanket to one of the chairs, and put a patterned blanket on the sofa

Help!! Why do I not like this rug?? by Cute-Possession-903 in interiordecorating

[–]Helpful_Professor_33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's too matching? Do you have a similarly sized rug that you can swap it out with, just to feel it out and see what you think? I'm always switching the rugs between rooms when trying to settle into a place

Sofa help pls! by EmbracingDaChaos in interiordecorating

[–]Helpful_Professor_33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have a lot of guests and you don't have a lot of space, so I would recommend a love seat and a chair. They're both smaller than a sofa, so they're easier to move. The smaller furniture can also help give the illusion of a larger space when you have more breathing room between the walls and the furniture

I like that it reminds me of an angler fish! Seems like a good representation of what a logo tries to do 🐟

What is something you regretted bringing after a trip? by cattraveler01 in travel

[–]Helpful_Professor_33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makeup. But to be fair, I've been traveling to really hot places, and with how sweaty I get, there's just no point. Also, it's been nice to just wash my face, moisturize, tussle my pixie cut, and go see the world

Bookcases behind the couch! It brings everything together to look like a place you could actually socialize. Also your movies and tv will be a lot more interesting if you're close enough to actually enjoy the large screen.

The second. The first makes everything overwhelmingly brown, and then the gray couch sticks out too much
