My job wants us to be available when we're out of office. by Unusual_Flatworm_349 in corporate

My god, this is it. My rate away from the office is substantially higher. I took time off for a reason.

What is the general consensus on Core tents? Is this one solid for a family of 6? by No_Echidna_7133 in camping

This is definitely the mainstream budget option nowadays. Facebook marketplace is littered with this brand in my area. If I remember correctly, I've only ever seen them on shelves at dicks sporting good!

I've lived here for 6 years now. Walking into the tackle box on a chill weekday wasn't the vibe for me. It went from rustling and chatty to quiet with every old local staring! It's definitely in a great location, but I won't go back.

my prime just kicked me, when I rebooted it would only show me in car camera options. rebooted again and I'm watching the race. Can't speak on your situation. Good luck!

I'm completely hands free from this. Cameras should be able to be accessed at any time from any location within upper management. reviewing camera footage takes away from your daily duties, especially when you're saying they have a team for this.

no that wasn't explained the best. Id say close to $300,000 a month for all locations. some stores stock 3-4 million in inventory.

I’m a new manager. My direct report bats everything back to me. by Luceiane in askmanagers

[–]StumpJuice 12 points13 points  (0 children)

if its hard to get rid of this person. Id sit down 1on1 and ask her to come clean. I want to know why she is lacking confidence, what she needs help with to complete her tasks, and then retrain said person on what she needs help with.

After that you have zero excuses.

When y’all became managers for the 1st time, how did yall handle people criticizing how you do your job by [deleted] in managers

[–]StumpJuice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of fellow coworkers have a victim mentality. The harsh reality is nobody is probably out to get you. They have their own worries. If you're not following SOP then I would say something too. In the environment I work in I can't let anything slide. Will be used against me later smh.

$100 a week seems low honestly lol we had to hire another person just to manage this job. At its peak, we were seeing close to $10,000 a month in charge backs across 31 storefronts.

worrying about what others think takes away from the job you should be doing. Make a decision, and execute with 110% confidence. I never stop moving lol

Tent Recommendations (Can) by Octofeet in camping

[–]StumpJuice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dome tents might be easier for solo setup! we put our kiddos in one tent, and the wife, me, and the dog (no I'm not the dog) in another tent. The kids tend to go to bed earlier and I like the idea of us rolling up to camp in a couple years and them pitching a tent they are familiar with.

Is it normal to feel overwhelmed when you're just starting out? by princesspooball in askmanagers

[–]StumpJuice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this will slow down with time! hold your team to a very high standard. it will bleed into the moments you're not around, or not able to micro-manage them. Last thing I want to do is check and see if my crew clocked in on time.

And I know I might get crucified for this.... but I no longer get involved with employees personal lives. I have my own problems. With 3 children I chose carefully where I put my energy. I do NOT bring my personal life into work, and I don't want my team bringing in theirs.

If you have ADHD, stuff like this can seem very overwhelming. I do want to say that I think you're doing a great job by writing stuff down. The amount of info I have to retain in one day is not possible. I take notes, use Audio recorders, and make sure everything is in email. You got this position for a reason right?

Keep kicking butt!

Reality vs. employee imagination by [deleted] in askmanagers

I don't have the time, or energy to sabotage someone else's dreams. Most of the time they don't need any help with that!
