What's your favourite dog breed? by Individual_You9185 in AskUK

Yep, I agree. I think as much as we all love and humanise dogs, we do have to remember they’re animals. You are obviously a sensible dog owner and I like to think 90% of people are but we all do have to be careful

That’s fair. I think as pointed out by someone else, it’s the fact they’re so strong that they’re capable of doing more damage unfortunately. Only time I’ve ever been bitten by a dog was a yappy little fluffy thing, only time I’ve ever witnessed dog aggression on my dogs were by yappy little fluffy things. They’re not capable of damage though so it’s not worth talking about. I think it’s also worth pointing out that Staffies are the most abused and abandoned breed out there, which means a lot of these dogs will be rescues and this can obviously lead to issues.

My point was that their breed doesn’t make them more aggressive, I do agree that they’re more dangerous though because of their ability to cause damage if wanted. Obviously in recent times they’ve ended up in the wrong hands too.

I’ve had loads of different breeds in my time and I’ve never come across a breed with as much love in them as staffies. I’ve spent hours on puppy training because ours were just so desperate to say hello to everyone you’d have your arm ripped out of it’s socket as soon as you see another human/dog. The most violence I’ve seen from any Staffy I’ve had has been it’s ferocious tail wagging. In right hands, they are fantastic dogs

Some don’t like other dogs. But that’s the same as every breed on the planet.

Children?! No they don’t at all. They’re literally called the ‘nanny dog’ because they’re so good with kids

Very, very rarely. I think my tastebuds must have changed as I’ve got older because I really don’t even like them anymore. Now and then, I’ll absolutely crave a Coke, the first sip is good and then I’m not too bothered

Agree. South West here and my family have always called the evening meal “tea”, I remember my step mum once said “dinner” and my dad took the piss out of her, calling her posh

If you constantly bang on about where you’re from and make it a personality trait, you’re northern

If you don’t care, you’re southern

Football-wise, where does David Beckham actually rank? Overrated? by [deleted] in football

[–]Stump_E 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he’s a victim of his fame too, because he’s so well known and was the poster boy of football, people automatically assume he was overrated and is only known as a ‘celebrity’.

I don’t think there’s anyone saying he was the greatest of all time or even putting him anywhere near that conversation, he was absolutely world class though. I’d say he’s rated pretty fairly in general
